Black mage is actually the most sane char

I'm afraid I don't follow the point of this thread, so I'm just going to dive into my thoughts into BM and his sanity.

Brian has visited the issue of the fine line between genius and sanity in Black Mage's case more than once.

:bmage: "Fall between the cracks, slip through the shadows, but is that mad or is it magic?"

It's a very common phrase associated with BM. I've gotten the impression that Brian has a much grander plan for BM, eventually bringing him to a confrontation with his own sanity.

Or, Brian's making this up as he goes along. If that is the case, then BM has already tangled with his sanity when Fighter's spine snapped in half from the Armoire of Invincibility. He chose to become drunk with power, and started dancing on Fighter's grave while Black Belt was being digested, White Mage beats him halfway to hell, and the issue is dropped. End of story.

But when you get down to it, Black mage is certainly NOT the most sane character in 8-bit Theater. White Mage has her faith, Fighter has his adventuring spirit, Thief has his greed, Black belt has his monk mental conditioning, and Red Mage.... well, RM has some newly discovered issues as well.....

But Black Mage has him beat. Cross-dressing is NOT in the same effing ball-park as genocide.

Maybe so... but it's only genocide of dwarves. And no one likes dwarves anyway. Smelly, drunken, knee-clipping, little bastards.

What's there not to like? heh heh heh.

Mostly the smell. And the knee-clipping... and the fact that they find bearded women sexy. Now if that's not reason for genocide, I don't know what is.

That last reason is why they should be given rusty spoons and tortured until they kill themselves with them. As for BM's sanity... well, what sanity is there? He is ruled by three motives: Hurt Fighter. XXXX White Mage. Conquer World.

u forgot to mention learn ultima...THEMN USE IT ON FIGHTER!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

You could replace conquer with destroy, it would be just as valid.
