Vs Capcom
Okay, so they "officially" announced several characters everyone knew was going to be in MvC3, IE Chun Li, Dr. Doom, and Trish. The big surprise was Super Skrull who looks like mad fun to play. The Kattelox Island level gives me hope for some more Megaman Legends representation.
They also announced Namco Vs Capcom and Capcom Vs Namco! TWO separate games! One made by each company. Color me intrigued. Also, when I saw a gameplay video and Deadpool Shoryukened Ryu, I cried for joy. |

Amaterasu Amaterasu Amaterasu Amaterasu Amaterasu Amaterasu Amaterasu Amaterasu. And some Marvel B-Lister named Thor or whatever. |
Looks like Marvel jumped the gun on that.
NvC and CvN aren't announced yet, just rumours.Namco's version is supposed to use the Tekken 6 engine and Capcom's version is supposedly using the SF4 engine. See it on Kotaku among the other sites that posted it. For even more comic-con rumours check outHyper Combo. Funnily enough these rumours DON'T mention a possible NvC or CvN so perhaps that rumour is bunk. As for MvC3 itself I'm glad that they're moving away from making TvC 2 entirely, the changes sound nice, and it's good to hear that you can't get a free combo off of a Team Aerial Counter. |
Nanco Vs Capcom
Capcom Vs Nanco Marvel Vs Capcom 3 I don't care about neither of these because they negleted mah Wii!!!!! These games wouldn't be around without Tatsunoko Vs Capcom! For shame!!!! |
I don't think TvC had any real bearing on those considering that it ended up being really unpopular, but it did meet sales expectations I suppose. But for those of you who have never played one of the Vs series before, MvC3 will play somewhat similar to TvC so it's a good place to start if you want to get a feel of what the series plays like, although Marvel vs Capcom 2 on PSN/XBLA is a better place really, since you'll at least find players for that.
|
Wait... why are you saying it's unpopular? The Jpn version, yes, it went under expectations. But the US version got praise all around, it's a solid and well balanced fighting game .
Metacritic score of 85 on 60 reviews and it shows over 300k sales worldwide... that ain't bad for a Crossover fighting game in just one console where half the cast might be unknown for most of the audience. |
Critically TvC was well recieved but the more hardcore fighting game fans, especially the guys into MvC2 who were really hoping that TvC would meet some of their expectations were all met with disappointment since the game turned out to be a bland combo-fest fighter, more like a watered-down Guilty Gear than what was expected of a Vs series game. The fact that it was on the Wii and had terrible online definitely hurt the game's standing in the eyes of fighting game enthusiasts too, as well as the other little flaws in the balance and the gameplay that you probably won't care about but a lot of other people such as myself did. Those 300k people who bought it? Most of those probably aren't playing anymore. When fighting games LIVE on having people to play with, that's not a good sign. Over here in the UK the game has so few players it might as well have not been released.
Also the giants are a concept that sounds cool on paper but are absolutely horrible when put into practice. They are a fun vacuum and make every match they're involved in an exercise in pure tedium. |
When I watched the EVOCON Marvel Vs Capcom 3 fights, I nearly wet my pants in glee.
Sadly, Chris doesn't look so tough, because none of the fighters couldn't work him into their combos effectively. Deadpool VS Young Dante 4-ever. |
If Klonoa is in NvC/CvN, I will seriously play as him every time I play it.
Same for Pacman. |
Klonoa wears Pacman on his hat, so you can technically play both.
