You know you're a medic when...

So I started play Alien Swarm today. Beating aliens to death with my medpack just made me...happy. Here is the game if you wanna see.

It is Steam and it is free. I am CABAL on Steam (original I know) Let's go huntin'.
I am not as creative or enthusiastic as DFM, so I will not insult y'all by trying. But I will say medpack beatdown.

I love Valve for little things like this. Came for the hat, stayed for the fun game.

I lie the medic, as well. Run around with two medpacks, beating things to death like you but then I got the healing gun and now run Faith with Medigun + Medpacks + Damage Reduction

Parasites can go to hell, especially on that last level.

One issue: the game runs slow for me because there is a lot of the detail. This becomes very obvious if you look at the world in first person view. Look, a basketball!

I tend to play whatever the group is missing, which is generally medic, but I play more of a combat role, with a tesla cannon as primary weapon and healing gun/healing beacon as secondary. Adrenaline or electric armour tends to be my tertiary choice.

Yes. I've switched from what I said before to Tesla+Medigun. I feel much less helpless.

Helpless? When you show those bugs your fists of steel, you won't be so helpless! I seriously had, like, the second most kills in one game because I ran around punching everything as a medic with the Medic Gun, and the Healing Beacon. It was awesome, and unless the enemy was a shield bug, it worked.

Having just played it for an hour and a half, I agree, game is fun.

Also, either the me and my two friends suck, or this game is hard.

We made to the last level, rolling with me as a tech and the other two as a medic and a weapon specialist. That last level kicked our butts. We would do alright until we got to the part where there are 2-3 shield bugs and a swarm of the bugs that spawn the non-infecting parasites. Man, that part sucks. We'd either get split apart and get mauled by shield bugs, or run out of ammo and die a slow, painful death by mini bugs.

...For the sake of my ego, I'm declaring the game to be difficult.

You cried on Ninja Gaiden's easy mode. Didn't you? DIDN'T YOU?!

Ninja Gaiden has an easy mode!? That's just there to screw with the player, I'm sure of it.

Someone bringing an ammo crate becomes almost mandatory on the later levels, I find.
