Goddamn It, Generation... Whatever We're On Now
Okay, so, Geneartion ?, listen up. I've got somerthing to tell you.
Kesha Has A New Song Out with more Autotune than ever. Okay - I listen to a bit of Kesha. (No effin' dollar sign, her name is Kesha. A dollar sign is not a pronounceable letter in the alphabet.) But kids, there's a whole lot of really good unknown techno, if you're looking for an auto-tuney sound. There's a whole lot of regular music, what with Minus The Bear, Sia, Hail The Villain, THe John Butler Trio... Whatever you're into. Kesha has a few passable hits... but do you really want to encourage her by buying her music? If you're gonna spend money on something, spend it on a movie ticket. You kids are dirtyin' up my second viewing of Toy Story 3. For serious - I saw Toy Story - the original one - in the nineties. I have it on VHS. All of the best movies came on VHS. Woody, Buzz and the gang were available in low def! You know what else was available? Not hearing little kids talking during my nostalgia trip! You kids are wearing your pants way too damn low. I'm serious - I never noticed it before today, but damn, when I can see your back pockets at your knees, it's time to buy a belt. And while we're on the subject, wear a shirt. I know it's a hojillion degrees outside, but geez, no one wants to see that but your tween girlfriend. Working in a convenience store affords me many luxuries - kicking you out for clothing violations is one of them. |
80s styles are back - leg warmers, off-shoulder sweaters, headbands, and so on.

The worst of the 80s isn't back yet. Anyone remember those awesome pants? I don't even know what they're called because all those fashion thingies always have a name. I mean... what were they thinking? I only know this from movies though, because I'm a kid of the 90s. In terms of popular music I'm not sure if it was better or worse than the 80s. Let's just say they were both pretty bad. The zero years (which sounds way cool, man, as opposed to whatever you kids call it now, I mean what the shit?) are truly a blessing in that regard. But still not as good as the really good shit from all across the timeline (according to me).
Also: Who the fuck is Kesha? Please don't explain that to me, It's one of those things I simply don't give a damn about. |
