I'll take my chance to share my thoughts.

I love the battle system. It's fun. Most of my friends prefer a game for the storyline so I can't blame them for disliking it. I can't really get into it either, but it is fun to take on something too tough for my characters and squeeze through the battle. It's exciting. I played through FFX but didn't really enjoy it, however I still enjoy this game, primarily for the battles.

The characters can be quite annoying, but like someone else said, it's easy enough to ignore. And they aren't that bad sometimes. And while people call it "pretty princess dress up" I have to say I never even focus on what they're wearing, just their abilities. Hell, I'm not even that involved with the fact that it's three scantily clad chicks, my eyes only leave the status bars to see the damage I deal.... And to see the attacks. I mean, they are so much more aesthetically pleasing. I'd blabber more, but I gotta get to class.

You know, I don't play games for sexy girls, but I like to count it as a fair bonus. Unfortunatly I feel that this one just goes too damn far. THE ONLY HOT ONE SHOULD BE THE SIDE KICK GIRL! Like Rikku. She should stay hot, the others shouldn't try. I thought Yuna was damn cool in the robes. Whatever. I'm sorry but I can't get around that. Sure there are like 100 more things I hate about it, but honestly, this final fantisy DOES have some good things to it.

To me this game is average, and for a Final Fantasy game, average isn't near good enough. I'll just buy 'Beyond Good and Evil' instead.

I think even without playing it and not bothing to ever play it, unless I get beyond bored, this game is evil.

-Direct Sequel???? Egad(though if a sequel to FF6/3) came out I'd cream my pantalones)
-Annoying characters. I liked FFX, but those were my two least favorite characters. I pine for the days of badass characters. Where for art thou Sabin? Cyan? Kain?
-Its too Japanese. It just is. Ok. that's not racist its just.. Japan must be stopped. they have robot dogs for the love of god.
-Victory Music gone? Where do I mail the firebomb to?
-Guns as commonly used weapon? Maddness is this Tomb raider? Hello?

Now there is two camps 1) the you haven't played and your being a conservative gamer fearer of change.
2) this has final fantasy on the package I will buy it and love it

To me it seems if this was named something other than FFX-2 it would be better...
Like that American Godzilla movie or Jason X there is just something Fundamentally wrong with FFX-2. I can't quite put my finger on it right now. But you all know it in your very souls. FFX-2 is wrong. Pretend to ignore it if you must but soon you will be playing DOA Beach Volley Ball and tombraider 3 or something and then you'll wish you'd never played FFX-2.... It's like Kingdom Hearts. Sure its "fun" but there is an underlying evil in the very concept. Just something fundamentally wrong..

Besides that Changing jobs in battle thing seems like a cope out if you ask me.

That kind of negates all of your points right there, because you don't actually KNOW any of the things that you just typed (other than that it's a sequel). You don't know that you won't like the new music more... you don't know that the characters would annoy you, etc. etc.

Although I do agree that the american godzilla and jason x are both inherently evil. Godzilla 2000 was far better... even though the special effects were on par with the 70s Godzillas. Just because it was made by the same people (and funny as hell.)

I love this game. **** the NBA, FFX-2 rules.

Though the tone is getting significantly less funny now that I'm in Chapter 3 and the plot is starting to kick in.

Good point, but changing jobs in mid-play isn't my problem. I actually kinda like that idea. The only thing I dislike about the battle system is the amount of people. Come on, I WANT SOME COOL DUDES! I want only 1, or at most 2 funny charactors in the line up. Quina, Zell, Cloud, Feris, and that guy in FF6 with the green cape. I only know him as Edgar. (He looked like an Edgar. Come on, he does.)

The battle system is nice, but it needs more. I miss the job features, you don't see them much often.

but I still won't be playing FFX-2 unless the opportunity to get ahold of it for free and nothing even remotely interesting is happening anywhere.

i also hate the notion that my sniper could become a demolitionist just like that, its like they all have their character sheets infront of them and a pencil and they kinda literally write bosses off.

Your sniper could become a demolitioist just like that, sure, but this new demolitionist is going to know 2, maybe 3 skills tops and is going to suck unless you've spent time training them as a demolitionist also.

Honestly, don't criticize a game until you've at least rented it. It makes you look like a complete fucking moron.

Bezo: You're level 60... at chapter 3?! I just started Chapter 4 and my guys are around level 25. :| But I haven't done too much for sidequests (saving all that junk for the New Game+ playthrough, so I can just rush through and enjoy the story right now).

Speaking of which, the story in this game gets better and better. Honestly. Well, probably not if you didn't like FFX's story. But I'm digging the FFX-2 storyline a lot right now.

TheZeroMan - I don't know Lance personally, but I've seen him around town a few times in the past.

KefkaTaran - I level like a psycho. I'm not easily bored so I can do monotonous things like that. I've mastered at least 4 dress spheres for each character as well (mostly because I have the Lure Bracer equipped, which quadruples your encounter rate). :D

Has anyone else had the experience where a boss appears who was downright ridiculously powerful in FFX and you instinctively get all defensive, fearing for the worst? I don't have the strategy guide so I don't know what to expect and I compensate by levelling like crazy. :D
