The NEW guest comic week thread
 

This is for all ya'lls latecomers what needs a place to praise/hate on my guest comic, and, if it doesn't go the way of the last one, do the same for next week's, and the week after that's, and so on until the end of time or Brian come back, whichever comes first. If you somehow came here BEFORE checking the comic, click on the link in my sig.

Before (or, why not, even after!) posting here, I highly recommend you go read the closed former thread on this topic. Not only is the official Q&A for The Sosa-Like Entry to be found there, there's also some pretty funny stuff about aging and waaaamburgers. And you can find out all about where people's usernames come from! It was closed for a reason, my friends.

Anyway, I can't wait to hear from yous folkses, and maybe this time more than five people will participate!

... I can see why Brian said "Sosa-like entry"... Me, I say "Hate!" Even Sosa's Guest Comic from the last time Brian went MIA was better: It had color in it at least! (Zing!)

'Zing!' usually means 'Look at the clever witty comeback I just made!' not 'Look at how much you suck!' That's all I take issue with, though, it's not like I expect everyone to love it. Brian and Sosa's appreciation is enough for anyone.

Yea, unless yours is picked i think you should keep mean opinons to ur self before a flame war.

Interesting... I didn't realize that Brian appreciated it. I thought he put it in only because it closely resembled Sosa's art style... consider reading the front page again:

Brian: "And, coincidentally, the first one I knew would make it to the finals."
Sosa: "Brian's gone! The site is mine!"

That sorta shows that Brian knew that Personman's comic would make it to the finals because, with Sosa being temporary (Sorry Sosa, maybe another vacation :() leader of the site, he'd choose the guest comics most closely related to his (Sosa) own art style.

Oh, and ZING! This time it is a comeback zing, when one thinks about it...

Ah, curse my habit of ranting and putting nigh everything into cryptic forms... (:thief:: I can fix that. For a price...)

Oh, and one more thing: Please keep this stuff on topic this time. It's gonna be REALLY annoying if a bunch of "Guest Week Comic #1" threads were littering the front page.

EDIT: I'm not intending a flame war. Personman said "Before you start praising/hating on my comic". He was asking for criticism, in a way (Again, curse crypticism). Sorry for anybody who felt offended.

And Yeah, I was one of the people who didn't like the guest comic, I was expecting something better...

The bright side is, they can only get better from here.

Halerthorn: While I thank you for coming to my defense, I did invite criticism, and I want to know how many people like it and how many dislike it, and why. I'm not about to get angry at anyone for saying they don't like it. It is obviously not the sort of humor that appeals to everyone, and that's fine.

Loyal: I'm not offended. However, I am pretty sure that Brian does appreciate it. And if he doesn't, he still posted it, and _that_ is surely enough for anyone. Hell, I would've still been happy if he posted it with the caption "The stupidest thing I have ever seen." I would have still been bloody ecstatic.

Ah.... sorry to miss the wonderful chance to post in the previous thread. Stupid timezone-difference. But hey, any who know Tolkien's work know where my name comes from, and any who don't, won't even care. So, I'll stay on topic.

The guest-comic. I'll not say the art is bad, because any attempts I'd make, would be far far worse. I'll not say this is an insult to all who have tried to make a guest-comic, for several reasons, including the fact that has already been said, and because, for the reason above, I have not made any, and therefore would not be one of those 'all' anyway.

I will say, this is a good comic. Not the best I've seen in 8-bit theater, but it's good. This is one of those famous comics, which is funny because it's so friggin simple and unlike the rest of the comics, with no end-joke, no highly intellectual conversations, which I just adore (call me a geek if you want, I know better), and an obvious 'to be continued' ending (on itself very common for 8-bit), which, as a guest-comic, probably won't have any continuation. So, yeah, great comic. I mean that. Really.

I have often thought about the true face of BM, what it would look like, but never in all my life could I have expected this. I mean, what kind of hairstyle is that? Truly shocking, and if it had been in color, surely enough to bring everlasting terror to the hearts of the comic-readers.

So far my post. Perhaps I'll make more in this thread, if I feel like it, and perhaps I'll add one for each guest comic. Now is that not something to look forward to? :)

Loyal2NES: Sosa can't upload comics, or anything dealing with the content of the site. All he can do is post news. Don't you remember his whining about not being able to upload his colum, and Brian not doing it, so it was late? Yeah, Brian picked this out. So, it's Brian's choice, not Sosa's.

Just a bit of clarification.

As for who's posting the comics this week, I would think that since the site is all php, that the updates are already uploaded, and just waiting for midnight of the day they're set to premeir. Or he gave them over to Pierre to handle.
