Live from Boston!

Well, homosexual marriages bein now in my city... kind of quiet. With the day actully here, we citizens of the city are left with the question: What the hell was it all about?

Will the city change now? I don't see it. Will there be protests? Yes. Violent ones? Not from those who heed the word of the Church. My archbishop has ordered the Catholics to be sad, but not mad. We mourn the fact that our brothers indulge in what we consider to be a sin, but it IS their right.

This event has gotten news coverage (it IS sweeps, after all), but I haven't seen a lot of protest articles; just "Look at the two brides buying their dresses for their big day."

What the hell was the fuss ABOUT? I believe lots of things are sins. Some of them border on what the government recognizes as infringing on the rights of others, and are illegal.

Finally, if Martyr (or ANYbody else) instigates a flame war like the last gay marriage thread, I will personally delete this thread, and ask the mods to close the subject. It's soon a moot point, anyways.

Heh. A friend of mine who lives in Boston just posted wedding pictures of a gay marriage of two friends of hers on her live journal.
Two fewer competitors!

All quiet on the Eastern front, still, folks. Hundreds of gay are lining up outside of my city hall to be married...

"I now pronounce you ma-- married by the state." No biggie.

I could understand you might be worried about protests and the like.. When Multnomah county issues licenses nearby, there were some angry, angry people waltzing around.

And I am ashamed of Great Britain for not already being on this list. If you can't beat the United States to a moral and social breakthrough, there's a problem....

i havent read the Mass. Supreme Court rulling, but I hear even supporters of gay marriage say it was lame.

in other news, Rhea County, Tennessee -- home to the Scopes Trial -- rejected an anti-gay ordinance and wound up having gay day instead.
and also an anti gay marriage amendment in Kansas died

lets face it, if you cant win there, you've lost.

First off, marriage is only recognized by the state through taxes and military assignments(ie. send a couple somewhere, as opposed to sending one to Alaska and the other to Antarctica), and other than that it is purely religious. So my standing is, if you are not a priest of some sort, you should not have the right to argue this case or marry a couple. Well, priests and a ships Captain, but that's because there is very little chance of a priest being on a military vessel.
