I'm joining the PS3 family FINALLY!!!

Within 3 weeks to a month I will be getting a PS3 (Since I just couldn't get my self to love the Wii and 360's so cheap it can wait) to go with my shiny new Win 7 PC and HD monitor.

So I ask you NPF what are some great titles that I should buy and obsess over for weeks on end?

So far I have my mind set on Sonic 4, Armored Core 4, Another Century's Episode R (it has the Gouren Mk2 S.A.T.A.N from Code Geass R2, so who cares if the game sucks I WANT IT!!!!), and Disgaea 3 and 4.

Also anything Important I should know about owning such a sexy Console?

EDIT: Finally getting it this friday/today.

I would say get 3D Dot Game Heroes, its not expensive and I found it to be lots of fun. Both Uncharted games are great, it's like playing through an Indiana Jones movie. Grab Demon's Souls as well. Maybe grab the God of War Collection and God of War 3. Also, Final Fantasy XIII. It's not bad if you can get past some flaws, and the battle system is very fast paced and exciting.

Of the PSN I would grab MvC2, Megaman 9 and 10, and some of the PSone Classics. (I recommend Final Fantasy Tactics, Alundra, Arc the Lad, Resident Evil 2, and Syphon Filter.)

EDIT: OH SHAME ON MYSELF! Valkyria Chronicles! Get it, and get all of the stuff for it on the PSN. You're welcome.

Demon's Souls is a painfully unforgiving jRPG with wRPG stylings. It is fantastic.

Valkyria Chronicles 2 kicks ass, and I can only assume the original does as well.

If Catherine is localized and you don't buy it I WILL FUCKING FIND YOU.

I call dibs on his knees and right arm. I almost got me... a... you know what, forgot I said anything...

I am totally not assembling a Frankenstein construct in my attic...

In so much as I was usually defending FFXIII on the boards here, I'd say its a rental, then buy if you like. Far too long to actually beat on most rentals, but it seems to be a thing where lots of people don't like it, so it's best to find out if you do before dropping the cash.

Also, the Drake's Fortune games.

I might just import it. (already doing that with A.C.E R anyway)

Uncharted (both of them), Borderlands, Bioshock, Wipeout HD, Resident Evil 5, inFamous.

If you're at all into fighters I'd recommend Tekken 6 and Super Street Fighter IV, and get MvC3 when it comes out early next year. Wakeboard HD is good fun on the PSN too, you'd be surprised.

Check Amazon.com for used game pricing. Most of the time, you'll find better deals than anything you'd get at Gamestop (of course, there is the occasional exception). Heavenly Sword is a decent title, but sadly lacks in length.

If you spot it on the cheap, go for it.

Also, the controller motion controls can almost always be turned off in options. The only exception I've run into is Uncharted 1, which only involves an interesting way to throw your grenades, and 2 logs that you have to balance on.

Which accounts for 10 seconds of gameplay.

PS be wary of Demon's Souls, it's a good game but I feel it leans slightly too much on the unforgiving side for its own good. It's really moody and atmospheric in a way that few games nowadays are, but it really is a difficult, unforgiving game. I'm not saying it's bad, not at all, but it's not something you can jump into easily. Do some reading on it beforehand, so you know what you're letting yourself in for if you do buy it.

Bear in mind that, if you can connect to PSN, now is a good time to get it since Atlus are running a pure white world tendency event, which amounts to easier worlds and enemies for you.
