She's not dumb, she's just naive. Earth is a weird, crazy place to her

BMHadoken 06-10-2004 07:15 PM

How long was she around in the comics before they started? She seems to be amazed/confused by everything on Earth...if she'd been around for a year (thats my guess) you'd think she'd be used to these 'crazy' things...

Dragonsbane 06-10-2004 08:04 PM

exactly, she's been on Earth a while......no one, not even an alien, takes that long to adjust! Besides, her sister was completely new to Earth, but she had no trouble adjusting, didn't she?

TheZeroMan 06-10-2004 11:04 PM

I believe Starfire was naive in the comics but not stupid, but I think she was also created for the Titans comic. And she was huge like an amazon and with big hair. SHe was also like a savage warrior, probaly the most violent member of the team.

She also has weird powers for example in the comics she could learn in language instantly as long as she made physical contact with the speaker.

As for the Robin thing. He's only devote his life to crime fighting since like age 8, and he was under the tutalage of the Batman.

He's been fighting Two Face, The Joker, Mr. Freeze, Clayface, Posion Ivy, the Penguin, Mr. Zsasz, Mad Hatter, Bane, Killer Croc, Fire Fly, The Scarecrow and who ever else since he was 8 or some and lived to tell the tale he should have some above natural ability. Isn't the titans TV show robin Dick Grayson? If it was Jason Todd I'd see your point.... but Dick? No way... though he should finally change into freakin night wing already.

I was born here, and its STILL a weird crazy place. I guess that she just doesn't get out often. I mean, are people just not going to freak that an alien, that can fly, lift cars, and throw energy bolts around is walking into a McDonald's? And they're always fighting the Evil, so they don't have much time to go out and be "normal", relatively speaking. Besides, if she got used to Earth, then the writers can't make comic relief involving her naviete! They can't use BB forever!

Since Robin did turn into Nightwing in the "future" episode, it's Dick, just like (most of) the comics.

TheZeroMan 06-12-2004 10:32 AM

I don't know didn't Dick beomce Night Wing in the Batman Animated Series when they redid it and added Batgirl? I know the added a new Robin, the Tim Drake Version I believe, in the batman show. Anyway.. I think he's Dick Grayson in the titans show.

Man between now being able to watch this show and finding my old titan/ Deathstroke Comic I've been on titans fix.... crazy talk.

And because I have alot of free time I went off and found the infamous evil superman android

I'm trying to make them minor, but this post has SPOILERS for the last four episodes of Season 2 (Betrayal, Fractured, and Aftershock parts 1 and 2) which haven't aired yet. The last one is for people who have read the comics ONLY, unless you don't mind having the best two episodes of season two ruined.

Terra does live in the tower. They made her a room at the end of Titan Rising, and she's in it for a part of Betrayal.

Beast Boy is quite powerful. He actually goes one-on-one with Slade and fights to a draw. He shows a lot of unexpected skill in Betrayal.

Fractured proves conclusively that Robin is Dick Grayson. The name of the Robin from another dimension is Nosyarg Kcid For the especially dense, read backwards.

Aftershock part one shows that Raven is actually LESS powerful when angry, and her opponent exploits that fact to defeat her.

The Judas Contract happens, but differently. It has the same basic effects, but Terra, as predicted, doesn't die hating the Titans. They leave a possibility of bringing her back if Robin can "reverse the effects" somehow.

Dragonsbane 06-12-2004 02:48 PM

Raven isn't actually less powerful, she's just easier to beat because she doesn't think before she acts........that's the entire reason you taunt someone in a fight, to make them angry enough that they start making mistakes.

BMHadoken 06-12-2004 03:23 PM

I don't know if you need much control when shit just starts to melt and explode around you (and thats just Starfire being scared/anxious).
