You really haven't. A lot of the clothing looks impractical and painted on. Form should follow function to some degree. I mean, clothes should look like clothes, right?

Your right, they should. I see what you mean.

Well it's another thing I'll work on fixing in future pics.

Wait I almost forgot.

About the blue lighting on Phantomcat-race characters and really anything white/grey.

Recently after December 24, 2011, I started rending characters/objects that were either White, or grey a light sky blue color. It' was something I tryed out since there really wasn't much of a way for me to bounce light off of bright white or grey. I've seen a few artist doing this on anime-styled works and figured it'd be an okay way of rending light on white or grey objects, fur, metal, ect for me since D-Resonate at it's core is a western anime-styled project.

If this isn't okay let me know and I'll change it/reduce use of it. And if you can please list correct or better color choices for light affects on white/grey objects, fur, metal, ect.

Thank you for your help and critic(s)

Even white things shouldn't be drawn as perfectly white, except where the light is most directly hitting it. Typically the main color would be a very pale shade, very close to white. As it stands Sarina mostly just looks like she's glowing. When I'm coloring the whites of someone's eyes, for instance, I use either e3e3e3 or f3f3f3 so that the highlights show up better. For instance:

Depending on the exact base color and circumstances, you might opt for include a slight hint of color, like blue (dfdfff), or yellow (ffffdf). Darker shades of these base colors (not to be confused with throwing a 30% opacity black brush on top) should be used for shading to further the effect.

Look at a white cat for instance. Some of them are very white and will scale down to gray in less-lit areas, but others have a more vanilla-yellow tinge to their fur instead.

Ah so I should use dimmer colors when using bright colors such as white/grey then.

Might take some getting use to at first, but I think I can do that.

And Sarina's (and the Phantomcats in gerenal) are energybeings anyway, I don't care about her/them glowing most of the time. XD Everyone else however is a problem I'm happy to now be able to fix and address.

Keep up the help guys. Faster I catch and fix problems. The sooner I can reboot "Mischief Knights" as "Mischief Knights Revise" and do it as a web noval with visuals for every act in each chapter. And the sooner I can start drawing my other webcomic "Avalice Assassin".

Drawing action: look up "line of action", knowing what they are and using them will help drawing action shots 10-fold. Basically, the 12 basic principals of animation will help you out here too. Even if the image isn't actually moving, you're still trying to depict motion and that is pretty much what animation is all about.

The comic Paranatural does a very good job with depicting action with simple characters. I'd look at some of their poses for examples.

Thanks CJ, I'll take a look at that later. Right now I'm going through some of Andrew Loomis's books for some well needed life drawing practice.

Update:
Something old I went back and finished real quick. Nothing special just a sketch. Practice stuff will be up later.

Also D-Resonate Chapter 0 will be up later tomorrow.

EDIT: Wow I probably should have token a better look at that. It's not quite as decent as I thought. Also just noticed that his hair line is off center. XD Ha ha ah... opps.

Some stuff that's being worked on...

EDIT: had to fix the first pic. I had posted the wrong version by accident.

Yes I'm practicing to rid the problems you people pointed out (ackward autonomy, lazy detail, ect). It will take time for me to get it right and re-apply it to all current and future character designs for Mischief Knights. So please do not needlessly repeat anything said in the previous page of this thread.

Thank you in advance for your patience.

I'm also rewriting ALL of mischief knights. The new rewrite will be called "D-Resonate". The writing in it should be at the VERY LEAST decent. If not then well... fuck.

I plan on getting Chapter 0, Act1 out sometime later tonight or this week. Hopefully time is in my favor for a change.

I want to say that his arms are too long, but he's a leprechaun and what do I know about leprechauns? Plus, it's easier to just comment on how tightly Sarina is clutching that pot o' gold to her chest given that a violent little man is on top of it.

The colored lines are pretty ok, though. Definitely progressing in making that look good. Maybe you could work on making those lines smoother, just as a thing to work on. Like, around the fingers, you know?
