Gaming News
I've been sharing a laptop for the last year or so, which has been a major contributing factor to my bookmarks being terribly unorganized/incomplete. What I would like you to do for me here is share with me what sites and sources you use for gaming news and reviews - mainstream, underground, video blogs, whatever!
I am hoping to start a gaming zine in the format of a video blog soon, and I need a more steady source of gaming news than what I get from you clowns and the random copy of EGM I buy here-and-there. Love, Nique PS - If you have suggestions for games, publishers or developers to keep an eye on, feel free to talk about those too. In fact, in addition to sharing links, let's make this a general 'whats new besides sqaure-enix tripe in gaming' thread. |

Hoooooold the fort there. You intend to pass information to others using this websites are Sources, right?
If so... Gamespot -> It's light on information but the Forums for the latest games are usually helpful. Never take anything from there without a grain of salt. Also great website to check release dates and it's connected to Gamefaqs IGN -> They lead. THeir reviews are... well... their overall sense of a game usually is quite right, but they really hype games they pesonally like. a Few years ago you would think they were part of Microsoft too... it was that bad. Good for Previews and sources for tidbits of infor for the future Kotaku -> Never quote kotaku. never. It's a good lead for many stories. See it in Kotaku, dig deeper.... that usually works. But Kotaku in itself isn't a great place to pick news... they do have some very nice Live Bloggin during events, so that's worth checking out though. Gamasutra is a very nice place for Inside information on the industry And 1up is a mixed bag for me, i would use it as "that other source" to confirm an information. Also, if you want to create something, it would hurt to toss a few e-mails to these people, try to make a connection or two. Won't get you any VIP passes, but at least they work in the business for a few years more than ya! |
