On the whole city issue, I would totally start a project of helping turn the general area around Arcanos' spawn into a city-like place (boundaries being to my tower, fifth's mountain, then at some point in the other directions, modifiable to our needs). There are already some pretty tight structures and all that would really be needed is some torches and a 1-high fence. I would also expand the road/bridge style of stone flooring to others' structures if they would like.

Because I do kinda miss the community idea, especially since the area was mostly developed on Ness' server when I started minecrafting.

I'm sorry! I said hell in front of Verifiedz, I didn't mean to. D: It just slipped out.

Clearly that's grounds for capital punishment.

Well if people really want a city, why not just build a road grid somwhere convenient to make some blocks of land and then auction them off?

Build a subway too if you're feelin' FANCY.

I'm thinking of laying some roads myself in Terra. What's the best road material do you think?

Cobble gives the most roadlike look to me. You could either dig out a dirt channel and place full blocks or make slabs and place them either in a similar channel or just on top of the ground. Depends on what look you prefer.

well it cant be on a creative server, having limitless access to anything you want removes the need to ever travel. Ideally a minecart system that allows for stops would help and ease traveling. Then some community structures with communal orchard and mine to encourage use of the system

Instead of auctioning off plots, be smarter to homestead, meaning offer people resources in exchange for building there. Wouldn't have to be anything too elaborate, just a simple "get X for building a house"

Why dont you guys build out by the sea in Ely. I mean its a flat space with a train station near by why not.

as a creative server it has two problems. First being, as I said, with ability to just magic up what you need there is no motivation to build near each other. No need to share or farm resources. The other issue is that the town would be completely overshadowed by everyones various creations.

There is also that, if you are forced to use resources you gather then buildings will look similar. Ores and clay would be rarely used, and since few want to venture across the map for materials outside the biome everyone will use more convenient materials. Either smaller homes of more exotic materials, or larger ones that use it more sparingly. Giving a sense of consistency

Odd you would think that magicking up supplies would encourage such behaviors I mean Look a Ely vs Necro Fifth said it himself that all the wonders of Ely where pretty much on one screen.

Plus you WANT conformity? In a game of INFINITE possibility you want Conformity. Dont we get enough of that in the real world. i mean im sure everyone doenst want to always see a Wooden house here or a stone office building there. Verity is what we all want.

Man... FUCK conformity. This ain't 1984 after all.
