Frozen Treats
 

here in chicago we're experiencing our first summer-like day of the year (80 +humdity), and i'm celebrating by blasting the A/C and a Slurpee. Slurpees have always been a favorite of mine ever since i was a little kid growing up in northern michigan. since i lived in a small enough town, i was allowed to walk a few blocks to the 7-11 to buy myself Slurpees. I'm a big fan of the 'suicide' style Slurpee, which for those who dont know, is a mixture of all the avilable flavors. I've tried Slushies, and Icees and all that other shit, but nothing compares to a good Slurpee.

so what are some of your favorite summer treats?

I have to be honest, Slurpees take the proverbial cake, though I can't bring myself to mix the coke flavor with all the fuit ones, 'cept pina colada. Yep, pina colada and coke...hell yes.

Oh that sugary, flakey, fruity, cream-filled goodness....its what every growing hamster needs!!!!

edit: Oh and I heard someone tell me that they were great frozen, so last night I tried it and they were right :p

A pint of Ben and Jerry's Karamel Sutra ice cream. Yes, the entire pint...

Well, If we are talking Summer treats, I have to go with Beaver Tails.


...No they are not acutal beaver tails, they are a large (almost the size of a pizza) flat pastry, covered with your choice of sweet toppings. the one I get, the classic, is smothered in Cinimon and Sugar... they are seizure-licking good.

as for favorite Frozen treat: Black Licorice Ice Cream... best. Ice Cream Flavor. Ever!

A Beaver Tail

You can say shit on here without having to censor it? huh..well what d'ya know..

I like snow cone thingys. Theres this little place called snow biz done the street where you can get them every summer.. root beer float and coconut cream pies.. the best flavors EVER.

Theres a snow cone place here in LA (not los angeles, I mean Louisiana) that, if you're lucky, you'll get the girl who gives equal doses of syrup and ice. Just cold sno-cone syrup, thats what I like.

And we don't get Slurpees down here. All we got are Icees, and they're alright.

Oh, and Dairy Queen Blizzards are excellent. Very excellent.

Just to add to the list: Rita's is a good place. Mmmmmm......gelati....

For me, nothing can beat a few scoops from Cold Stone. Chocolate ice cream, brownies, and fudge is my favorite combination. Just recenetly there were a few history teachers from the high school serving up some ice cream there, but they kept dropping the ice cream. Also, at Cold Stone if you leave a dollar in the tip jar, they sing a song. There was a lot of bad singing that night, but a lot of bills in the tip jar.

I like those Strawberry Shortcake bars from good humor.
