we can kill traitors, but otherwise infighting should wait until we rule Hyrule.........and that IS a damn good quote........mine just sounds like the flavor text from a Magic, The Gathering card.....

and Red Knight will insist on fighting Link to prove the superiority of Communism...

so, where do we start?

lazy man 05-23-2004 06:01 PM

Let me join you comrades! Our cause is too important to die to these pig-dogs!

Name: Aleksei Ivanov
Race: Human
Class: Interrogator/torturer
Political Party: Communist
Ideals: Doing whatever he can to get the info needed for the cause to succeed.
Abilities: With a special skill with interrogations and torture, Aleksei will make nearly anyone crack.
Bio: Growing up as the son of a supporter for the cause, Aleksei soon took an interest in torture and interrogation. After about 20 years of practice, he has become one of the best at interrogations in the land of Hyrule.
Quote: "If you value your precious, precious limbs, you'll tell me what those pig-dogs are planning."

Elminster_Amaur 05-23-2004 06:04 PM

Good, and good.

We have five supporters of the cause....I can't decide if I should participate as a character or not.

Dragonsbane 05-23-2004 06:06 PM

an interrogator, eh? You would probably know how to make one of those blasted fairies tell me the secret of the whirling blade technique, wouldn't you?

IHateMakingNames 05-23-2004 06:10 PM

Can I be a Capitolist dog?

Elminster_Amaur 05-23-2004 06:11 PM

If you so desire...

IHateMakingNames 05-23-2004 06:12 PM

I want to be the Capitolist dog hero Link and hand all of these commies their own asses....

Forever Zero 05-23-2004 06:12 PM

I'm almost literally expecting him to be a dog now, just to see how bizzare a character he can get away with...

IHateMakingNames 05-23-2004 06:13 PM

Ok, I'll be a dog. One of those Nazi dogs, but pimped out to kick the communists' asses.

Forever Zero 05-23-2004 06:14 PM

A Doberman is the type of dog I think, or a German Sheperd. And this will be an interesting RP...

Dragonsbane 05-23-2004 06:15 PM

I will take great pleasure in sitting in a high tree, picking IHMN off with fire arrows...... *evil grin*

by the way, what race is Link? I might decide to be an outcast member of his people........

Forever Zero 05-23-2004 06:18 PM

Just plain ole' Hyrulian. They look like Elves, but they always call themselves Hyrulian. Either one should get the point across. In fact, I would want to fit in with the population...

IHateMakingNames 05-23-2004 06:19 PM

Hyrulian are just humans with longer ears.

Dragonsbane 05-23-2004 06:22 PM

should we be Humans or Hyrulians? If I'm Hyrulian, I might already know the WBT........

IHateMakingNames 05-23-2004 06:24 PM

Here, I will teach you how to do that.

Hold your blade out, and spin around. Is that so hard?

And no, you would not know something just because you are Hyrulian. The Great Faerie(s) only give Link his magic (No one should have magic by the way) because he is the Hero of Time.

Forever Zero 05-23-2004 06:25 PM

Then where did Ganondorf get his magic? Or the two witches? Or Wizrobes? They got their magic from somewhere, and we are on their side now, so I don't think they would be totally adverse to teaching it to us...

IHateMakingNames 05-23-2004 06:29 PM

Ganondorf, Triforce of Power.

Everyone else is just a monster (The two witches were... No idea). You aren't monsters.

But no Hyrulians have ever had magic (Beyond Sages and Zelda, and Link).

Edit - Actually, there have probably been a couple of characters in Zelda games who spent most of their lives teaching themselves magic, but not many.

Dragonsbane 05-23-2004 06:30 PM

Cool! Can I learn some Fire magic to blast the Capitalist pigs with?

Forever Zero 05-23-2004 06:32 PM

Wow... I'm not even sure how to respond to DB...

I don't need any magic anyway, it's mostly an academic discussion in that case. What if we where a monster that was allied with the Communist? Some of them seemed pretty smart...

IHateMakingNames 05-23-2004 06:34 PM

Not even many monsters have magic, just those floating robes with hands and some bosses.

But, all of your bios say Human (Hyrulian), so I think that cancels out magic for you.

And even if you have magic, beyond Ganondorf, the most I've seen are one or two spells, and even then they (Casters) usually weak physically, or really old.

lazy man 05-23-2004 06:38 PM

I don't see why we need magic anyway. Just think of a way around it. Besides, I'm not going to be thinking up my super-powerful spell, but instead will be thinking up my next torture strategy.....my particularly evil torture startegy.

IHateMakingNames 05-23-2004 06:40 PM

http://www.illwillpress.com/vault.html

Watch "Foamy's Rant III", it will give you some ideas.

(Edit - Some of my torture ideas were taken from this)

Forever Zero 05-23-2004 06:50 PM

REALLY IHMN, I couldn't have guessed that. The "24-Hour Clock until you Die" is a particularly sadistic one, although that would most likely leave them dead and not up to giving information...

lazy man 05-23-2004 06:59 PM

Thanks IHMN, I'll make sure the people have a life that would be scarred forever if they live past the torture.

Dragonsbane 05-23-2004 08:32 PM

hehehe.......you're right, I don't need magic, and the Red Knight would get bored listening to some old witch mumble about how to summon light, he would just want to hurl fire at things........and for that, we have FZ's alchemist, with his supply of fine explosives. Hey, I just had an idea for explosive arrows...........think about the looks on those Imperialist's pig-doggy faces when they see the sheer might of our Communist industry NOW, eh comrades?

Elminster_Amaur 05-23-2004 10:03 PM

Well, if you could convince the Gorons to go to your side, I'm sure that explosive arrows could be arranged.

Certain people do have magic, as someone has to have made the magical items of Hyrule...the problem is deciding who did that. I'll say if it's an item used in conjunction with brute strength, Gorons. If it's an artsy type item, we'll say the Zoras made it. Everything else we'll blame on the Sheikah, Hyrulians, Gerudo and Kokiri.

You can have horses if you want, and I'll allow someone to have small, and very slight magical abilities if they are wizard/sorcerer or something of the sort; you know, shoot small fire/ice/dark(light for IHMN) blasts, transform, fly short distances, lift really heavy things and such. We'll say that the cities are much bigger than they were in the game, and that you would have a good possibility of converting Gorons, a horrible chance of converting Zora, and 50/50 chance of converting anyone else who isn't royalty. Fairies have no chance of coming to your side, but Octoroks, Moblins, Skultulas, Skull-kids, any Ancient Evil, redeads and any non-specified creature that is considered to be under Ganon's control in the games has an excellent chance of joining your cause. I'm not sure, but I'll probably concider Castle Town as being unconvertable, except maybe the shopkeepers. Lon-lon ranch is already owned by Ganondorf at this point in time. Great Deku is dead, Link has just awakened, the big dragon has been released, and monsters are starting to roam, but the major cities are still well, as they have actual defense(unlike in the game). This time-period may not have happened in the game, but Link did trap Ganondorf in the future, not in the past...

Dragonsbane 05-24-2004 06:26 AM

what sort of magic would a Communist Knight have? Lifting heavy objects or inspring allies maybe?

Elminster_Amaur 05-24-2004 05:33 PM

Lifting heavily inspired allies....no, that's not right.

Well, according to the bio you posted
Quote:

Incredibly skilled with a sword or a longbow, also has great proficiency with several other weapons.
Meaning that your character probably spent his whole life becoming a great swordsman and bowman. Also, with your class being Revolutionary Swordsman, sword techniques are all that I will allow you.

Dragonsbane 05-24-2004 05:33 PM

could I change it to Revolutionary Knight? I wouldn't want to sacrifice martial ability, since that's Dmitri Ivanovich's main focus.......but we need at least one magic user in the party...

Elminster_Amaur 05-24-2004 05:34 PM

If you wish.

Dragonsbane 05-24-2004 05:53 PM

Hmmm............Link picks up a few spells along the way, but remains mostly a warrior, perhaps I could do the same? (in other words, no magic unless I find it...)

AndyBloodredMage 05-24-2004 08:09 PM

Well Link does have to save the world by his lonesome, you will have a team of fellow commies to rely on.

Elminster_Amaur 05-24-2004 10:59 PM

So IHMN, do you really want to play as a dog?

IHateMakingNames 05-24-2004 11:00 PM

If I can be a magically enchanted dog that has been maced out ot he max, then sure, why not.

Elminster_Amaur 05-24-2004 11:01 PM

maced?

IHateMakingNames 05-24-2004 11:02 PM

I don't know... Another word for pimped out (macked was probably what I was looking for).

Elminster_Amaur 05-24-2004 11:04 PM

Oh, ok...macked out.

Do a sign-up and I'll consider. Keep in mind that you are on Link's side if you are still capitalist tho.

IHateMakingNames 05-24-2004 11:10 PM

One reason I wanted to be capitalist is because I am 98% sure Dragon will try some of the idiot god modding RP style things here, which will result in you getting pissed at him, and then he would probably have to be killed off...

But sure

Name: Wolf
Race: Dire wolf
Class: Attack Hound
Political Party: Dictatorship
Ideals: Rulers are good
Abilities: Biting people, jumping really far, teeth and claws of steel, tracking, hunting, animal senses, increased agility and stregth.
Bio: Wolf was a dire wolf that befriended Link. The Great Fariere realized Link may need help, so she pumped up the wolf and sent him on his way to go bite Commies heads off..
Quote:

Forever Zero 05-24-2004 11:12 PM

I think it's time we poison Capitalist Dogs water bowl...

EDIT: And techinically wouldn't he be Monarchy instead of Dictatorship?

Funka Genocide 05-24-2004 11:32 PM

mind if I play? here is my character if you don't want me in just tell me and I'll mosey on.

name: Gordon of the hills
race: hyrulian
Class: circus clown
political party: personal communist (anarchist?)
ideals: an ideal system of government would be one in which all members know what must be done and assign themselves accordingly to tasks which they can accomplish and will find fulfillment in. in short things should just fall into place after the removal of government and the implication of social education at an early age. Also hitting people with pies and/or seltzer water is the highest form of comedy.
abilities: an incredible slack rope walker and amuser of small children. he is also a master of the ancient arts of Kama Sutra.
Bio: raised in the shadow of a famous brother, he seeks fame in a brave new world, however given the communist movement his only chance at fame is through the newly established Politburo, or whatever form of oligarchy masquerading as communism holds sway at the moment. Given this sad truth, he has become an officer in the hyrulian military, in order to gain favor and influence. he still can't get the hang of it though, and most high ranking officials just don't seem to see the humor in a banana cream pie used as a projectile. These are truly sad times.

h4x.m4g3 05-25-2004 12:22 AM

Name: Borris Cognaugh
Race: Human
Class: Monk/Theif
Political Party: Communist
Ideals(This can be anything): Believes that the Hyrulian Monarchy is to constricting and joined the communist to break free of their oppressive rule
Abilities(Please limit yourselves...): Skilled in bare handed fighting, infiltration, stealing, and disguising himself
Bio: A former monk he is one of the masters at unarmed combat and can catch a sword or arrow in his bare hands. After leaving his spiritual journey he became a skilled theif and a master of disguise. Currently serves as a hitman and spy for the communist.

Dragonsbane 05-25-2004 06:28 AM

"idiot god moder", IHMN? I'm a SWORDSMAN.......not a macked-out cocker spaniel! Either way, a flame arrow to the eye should solve your misapprehensions, Capitalist pig-dog!

Elminster_Amaur 05-25-2004 10:39 AM

Just some questions for the new profiles...

Ummm...right. Why would a clown know that? Just give me a valid reason and I'll consider allowing it.

Does that mean you are on the Communist side, or the Hyrule Royal Family's side?

I'm giving the go-ahead for IHMN's and h4x.m4g3's characters. Answer my two questions and I'll probably allow yours as well Zoa.

Funka Genocide 05-25-2004 12:10 PM

I may have seen this story from the wrong angle, let me rephrase my words a bit. As far as the communist/royal family thing goes, I am with the communists as I believe they will be victorious. Since there is no actual communist military I will have to be a rebel leader of some sort, and the Kama Sutra thing was just my sleep deprivation talking, scratch that and add juuggling/ knife throwing skills, as those seem to fit the character of a circus performer while filling out necessary combat abilities. my character is a brilliant if somewhat scatterbrained tactician with deadly aim. I hope that clears things up.

oh what the hell, lets see if I can explain the Kama Sutra thing, maybe he dated a Gerudo chick for a while and she knew some "ancient secrets of Hyrule" if you know what I mean.

<edit> wink wink <edit>

I'm going to say that if she taught him the Karma Sutra, then she probably would have killed him when they broke up. But other than that you are good to go.

I'd like a heads up from everyone who still wants to participate and the RP should start tomorrow after I get back from work.

Edit: Maybe not tomorrow after I get back from work, but sometime tomorrow or early thursday, if everyone says they are still wanting to participate. That way I can do an effective scenario. Just a reminder, there will be no god-modding on this RP, so if it happens, your chars will be killed and you will be no longer welcome here. Just keep your posts within reason and all will be fine.

No, it's the Great Fairy, but I was spelling fariy in a very odd way (And wrong)...

Also, I don't think Guado date, and if they do, it's probably more of "rape the men" to get children so the Guado will continue to live, then they probably kill that man.

Also, make a new thread... Call it pre-RP discussion or something.

Elminster_Amaur 05-25-2004 03:13 PM

Ok, new thread up and coming.

Edit: here it is for any of you that cannot figure out which one it is: http://www.nuklearforums.com/showthread.php?t=4049
