"For Those Canadians Who're Here" or "Will And Kate"

Now, I dun know about you lot, but my mum's listening to the Royal Wedding going on (at four in the morning on Vancouver Island) and I'm stuck trying to sleep to church hymns. (Which, as history has foretold, is no great acheivement.)

What are people's thoughts on the royal wedding, if I could have a sentient thought before I pass out in an over-publicized, over-media-ted exhaustion?

We've got the day off which is pretty sweet. IN true british tradition everyone just getting wasted, lots of people walking around in suits, crates of beer under their arm.
Ceremony is both ridiculously religious and scriptiually contrary.
Harry is fatty.
Coded references to Will being gay reinforced by lack of royal kiss.
PAge boys got a guilty grin on their face- clearly had a prank planned but chickend out.
Queen doesn't sing "God save the Queen".
Kate has a really ugly dress but commentators are like "Ohhh it's so pretty"
Kate not putting her bouquet on the tomb of the unknown soldier, classic snub to the military.
Will only has a single medal whereas crazy old Phillip has about 100.

Not even a princess though. The only title she is getting is Duchess of Canterbury. Though many people on the internet are claiming that are actually the Duke of Canterbury.

Insurrection will be met with the full wrath of the Commonwealth.
That is all.
Edit: OH GOD POSTING IN THE PAST AGAIN HEEEEEEEEEELP

I don't know, I thought her dress was really nice. And her smile. Are you sure that was a military snub? Wasn't her now husband in the air force?

All I know is, I expect a full orchestra and flyover at my wedding.

I hate the discussion about the royal wedding and have update the tag of this thread accordingly.

Her dress was like £20 at Primark. And didn't suit her at all, made her look ugly which is pretty hard to do as she is quite nice looking.

Hes only got 1 medal and you any medals you earn as a royal are multiplied by like 20. Got to be military snub. Why else would you do it?

Why not just lock it? Every topic on the royal wedding I've seen across the internet has descended into vitriol and filthflinging. If that attitude is going to be the general idea of this thread, I don't see the point of keeping it open.

I can somewhat relate, due to the sheer over-exposure of the whole shindig.

Goodie! Two people are getting married!
Am I related to them? No? Why should I care then?

(I can imagine people in the UK caring somewhat, but why do I need to keep hearing about this in the Netherlands?)
