Try joining NPF Bits // FPN on Hamachi. Server password will be the same. I can self-connect.

Blugh, I could probably kill the Eye of Cthulhu if I could do decent damage to it. Gonna have to wait till I've got a much better weapon, I think.

McTahr 05-23-2011 03:39 AM

People generally shuriken eyethulhu to death the first time.

Kim 05-23-2011 03:41 AM

That's probably it. I've been using the boomerang. I think I'll set up a bit of an "arena" of platforms next time I face it and go hog wild with my shurikens, then.

McTahr 05-23-2011 03:46 AM

Yeah. I used my starcatching road and just shuriken'd the hell out of him and his minions. A bow with unholy arrows doesn't hurt, or a gun that pierces. Really, the important thing is that when you're shooting at him you also clear out his little summons in between you and him too.

E: Of course first time I did it I also had a lucky floating island find in the form of starfury.

I managed to win against it with a bow and fire arrows(I'm not sure if it was a gold or demon bow, though...), the main trick is to use the 200 HP healing potions so you don't spend a lot of time yutzing around with healing items.

Man, dungeons are horrifying. That... never-ending horde of murderdeath skeletons. I hope you don't need to do anything like stop for two seconds or reorganize your inventory, the skeletons sort of take offense to that. Luckily I can pierce them with my space-gun and shoot all thirty-six that pile up in a doorway at the same time.

Managed to get the Muramasa and Blue Moon, though. Neat-o~

The spawn rate in dungeons is positively redonkulous. After finally beating Skeletron yesterday, I'd think it couldn't get worse. IT DID.

Man, are there any accessories that give off light? I'd much rather swap out a crystal skull than have to not use a better helmet just so I'm not constantly putting torches down.

Break you some shadow orbs. You'll get an orb of light eventually. Spell that tempo summons a floaty glowy thing.

Meteor and Molten armor will also illuminate you when you move, you just have to jink a bit to keep it going.

@Donomni: LOL yes, I got into a situation where I had managed to sort of stem the horde by laying down a pattern of suppressing fire with my minishark, but once I'd gone through 750 rounds without any appreciable ground gained, I thought to myself... "I... May need a bigger gun... Bigger than a minigun."

I also found (and love) Starfury. The only aggravating part of Starfury is it fails terribly whenever you go underground, which is about 90% of the game.

Edit: Found my bigger gun. The Phoenix Blaster with Meteor Shot is a terrifying force indeed.
