This game is the bastard child of Minecraft and a Metroidvania game, and God help me, I just bought this.
I'll probably bring up a temp server like I did with Minecraft, and keep it up until someone else gets something more permanent. |
I got a pair of Hermes Boots, which are nifty but not nearly as useful as I'd like them to be, due to the nature of most of the game's terrain.
|
I created a female character with light pink skin, dark pink hair and blue eyes named "Pinkie Pie."
I have decided that it is her destiny to eventually join an Equestria server with other characters modeled after the other ponies. And we will construct Ponyville together. And defeat monsters. With the power of magical friendship |
This thread needs a better title. Could it be changed to "'FUCK WORMS!', and other Terraria stuff."?

I feel like I've been digging downward forever with no real progress. I haven't even found any of those health increasing thingies.

try a smaller map, if you can, or randomly bumble down natural caves

On a medium map, I will say reaching the "solid rock background" level -- where I've found tons of skeletons to smash and hearts to hammer -- isn't all that difficult. Part of the key is to find open crevices underground so that you can avoid actually digging the entire way down, though. |
They do take some time to find. Took hours to find my first one.
I think you just need to explore the open areas underground that are already there, and if you find another open spot with some blocks in the way, just dig those up and keep looking. Granted, it is a LOT easier with the grappling hook, since you don't normally have to futz with making steps for yourself so much(Also, hang-mining). The more skeletons I smash, the more it looks like the hook is rare as hell. Of all the time I've played this game, I've only had two hooks drop. |
I have the idea for the first server project we can do.
Listening to Blue when he was on one of the LP's, he said that each map would have a dungeon of a random color. Assuming there is a wide enough range of colors, we could take advantage of the large map dimensions and build ponies out of dungeon wall. |
