All this talk about Tintin and nazis and none of you mention King Ottokar's Sceptre, tsk, tsk.

Everyone uses that to go "oh look how anti-nazi he was" but all that story shows is the massive monarchy boner he possessed throughout his career.
But totally serious, Tintin as a nazi agent huntig for the secrets of the unicorn to help fund Hitler's war machine is the best direction they can take this movie.

But I kinda think that if you want to be dick about Herge you could point Blue Lotus. No racism against Chinese because he just happens to know one personally, but man, those Japanese are dicks but it's cool and racist.

World War 2 Japan were pretty massive dicks though.

That can't be denied, but I can't help to think that Herge potrayting them the way he did has a lot to do him knowing Zhang, because sympathy towards them make Japanese seem even more dickish than Herge probably thought before meeting Zhang. But it's kinda a double standard in my eyes anyway.

The world is one big double standard.
