It's time to come out of the closet
Okay, so I've been coming to terms with this lately, and while it may change the way you think of me, I think I finally need to get it off my chest...
I don't like Team Fortress 2. I don't like the constant dying. I don't like that everyone is so much better than me and know all this shit about it that I don't. I thought that maybe if I just stuck with it, I'd get better and I'd start enjoying myself. But the more I play it, the more I realize that I'm not having fun. I'm going through the motions, watching everyone else, wondering what they're getting out of it that I'm not. I'm playing solely because I don't want to feel left out. And I think I'm done. There. I said it. I hope you guys can still like me. |
What do you play and what do you prefer?

Im starting to wonder if people on this forum know what "come out of the closet" really means.

Maybe Rick plays TF2 in a closet? I wouldn't like TF2 if I had to get in a closet each time I want to play, it just doesn't sound comfortable. Maybe we should just get Rick a bigger closet :/.
Also, I die a lot in TF2, but it's fun to keep trying. Doing stuff like head shooting Shyria is just awesome. Last time I killed Mauve with a taunt, it was great. Also, those single class/melee only matches are really fun. Maybe you're taking the game a bit too seriously, play on one of the NPF weekends and do stupid things like trying to taunt kill someone, airblasting someone off a cliff/into a saw (right, Mauve? :P), and try other things. Try to play to get fun, you'll die a lot (Shyria! :argh:) but, you can always do stupid things to have fun :3 |

Maybe try some different classes and weapons? Or become a drunk Demoman and try death from above? |
Taunt kills
The compression blast thing is what you get when you press the left mouse key while using one of the pyro's flamethrowers. It can push people, sticky bombs and even rockets. I think Mauve and Shy could teach you a ton of things since I just play for |
Well, I guess I can still be your friend. I'll try and be open-minded about the whole thing. :p
But seriously, yeah, I can see how TF2 can be annoying. I love it, but yeah, it has a pretty sharp learning curve and it kind of assumes that everyone who owns it by now has been playing for several years and knows all the tricks. And quite honestly, I only play on NPF Nights because a lot of the Non-NPF TF2 people I run into in public servers are complete jerks. I actually switch my name to something non-gender-specific and turn off my mic whenever I'm playing in a public server because I don't like dealing with people. I hope you'll still join us for L4D and Portal2 shenanigans, though! :( Quote:

I'm with you Rick, I don't like it either. All that socialization is just too much pressure. I got stressed out being in two player parties in World of Warcraft. So many expectations. I played one game of TF2 and never looked back. It was probably a silly idea to buy it at all, but everyone was talking about it all the time and I wanted to be a part of the group. Though I'm clearly not made for such things.
