MMOs on Steam
Once or twice a year I just get in the mood for a MMO. Guess being happy all the time and having free time just doesn't cut for me. Well, this time Steam just happened to add some free MMOs to it's catalog so I might as well make use of it. So, which one of these would NPF recommend?
Forsaken World. It's designed by Perfect World Beijing. Unless someone makes a very good point that's reason enough for me not to try it. Champions Online. It was the last MMO I played, not bad. Seriously need an eletric Archetype :( Spiral Knights. Kinda Zelda-ish and Global Agenda. Shooting stuff, flying with jetpacks. |
Spiral Knights has art direction from the Three Panel Soul guy, so I can recommend it on a "You're indirectly supporting a webcomic" angle. Other than that, I dunno.
|
Spiral Knights looks really neat, if it's actually Zelda-style (Only saw 5 seconds of the video), and I'd be up for playing it if you want someone to play with.
|
How about adding one of these to the NPF weekends?
|
I've been enjoying Spiral Knights so far, but I only just made it to Haven. Still it seems pretty cool and it looks like lots of people have already added the games to their Steam accounts.
|
I'm in for Spiral Knights, I can play it with a controller :D
That doesn't mean I won't play any of the other games, as long as we get a NPF group of some sort, I'm in too :P EDIT: Hey people who play with the hat powered war simulator, you get a free hat if you play Spiral Knights today :P EDIT número dos: Quote:

Damn you bastards! I'm supposed to be learning physics...
(But just one game... NO! Must... resist...) |
Wait, how do you use your controller? I have one, and it does not work. T.T
|
You have to set the keys in the options :P. I didn't really like how the character controls using a gamepad though :/
|
I've been considering trying Champions ever since it went free, and Spiral Knights sounds interesting... Guess I'll have to see if any of these new free offerings are Vista-64 compatible.
(Except oh good lord I'll be downloading /installing for months before I'll be able to actually PLAY anything on my interwebs, so I guess we'll see...) |
Spiral Knights is actually around 400-500 MB, which is small compared to recent games. Also, it works fine in Win7 64bit so, Vista 64 shouldn't be a problem.
