THEATRHYTHM: FINAL FANTASY (aka Final Dancetasy Danceddia Revolution)

This ain't no Dissidia, that's for sure

Dare I entertain the thought that Edward would be unstoppably powerful in such a game?

edit: aw crap. I hate truncated thread titles.

Square Enix still can't do titles that don't sound stupid.

Zero interest in this other than the title. Hah!

I am a sucker for rhythm games. I suck pretty terribly at them cuz I ain't got no rhythm, but I still love them. Once I get around to picking up a 3DS I'll prolly be picking this up along with the obligatory OoT re-rerelease

Balancing a crossover fighting game too much of a hassle? Fuck it, just make it Guitar Hero instead!

Locke cole 07-06-2011 07:10 PM

Well, they had already said, around the time of Duodecim's release, that they weren't planning on any more fighting games.

Granted, I took that to mean that it was going to just be over, since Duocecim completed the story.

As I recall, Nomura or whoever said they were interested in doing more crossover games in the Dissidia breed, but that it would not be the same sort of format as the first two.

This, however, is the format I expected the least.

Locke cole 07-06-2011 08:52 PM

Yeah, that was it.

Personally, I'm actually intensely interested in what kind of story they'll use to try to justify this format.

Dissidia worked fairly well to explain how they're all fighting each other, but what is this? Some sort of interdimensional opera?

Is it too much to ask for Square to release Ehrgeiz?

I fail to see what that would accomplish. There's already a bunch of shitty games pandering only to the FF7 fans, what's the big deal about this one?

On PSN? I don't see why not aside from it not being all too special. It's kind of meh, neat but meh.

Here are some vids for those curious about it. Warning many of these are fan AMVs and likely do not play any of the sounds from the actual game.
