That's Fan-Fucking-Tastic. I'm sure that if there were any girl gamers that liked the EA Battlefield games, they have every right to be pissed off at this. I'm actually embarrassed. It's happening in Texas. So let's get this straight...

How many girls will appear in the Battlefield games? After we answer that question, how many can actually pull their own weight, keep a decent K/D ratio and pwn the guys?

And after all that is answered, let's think about the sausage Spartan orgy that's going to happen after hours just for the sake of conversation.

And come on: it's a gathering of first-person shooters. If you're going to ban females to protect them from insults and slurs, then you should also ban homosexuals, heterosexuals, and people of any nationality, for the same reason.

'Cause seriously, if you're playing your MODURN EFPEESS and you don't bat an eye to the fact that you can get shot thirty-six times or hide behind a small crate for 6 seconds to wipe the blood spattered all over your eyes and magically feel fine again so you can "RAMIREZ, DO EVERYTHING!" Then heaven forbid you [COMMENT EXPUNGED] or feel [Removed] by other lapses of epic realism besides bloom and brown.

In any case, I'm glad I play futuristic games like Half Life Deathmatch and Planetside, where nobody's really cared if I were a girl or not. *shrug* There's assholes in every hobby, just ignore them and play with someone else.

Edit, addition: There's actually quite a few, because gaming, like any other hobby, requires some level of dedication to be proficient, especially at PVP. If you get the typical sterotype of the 15 year old teenyboppers who're only playing Xbawks because their boyfriends own one, then yes, you're not going to see any of that. Of course, same thing with male stereotypes too. You don't see the kind of counterstrike player that the 'Angry German Kid' meme portrays perform well either. Still, I've no illusions that I'm not in a minority, but I don't mind. I also don't care for battlefield 2, but I guess, concievably there's a girl who might, but I don't want to play with her anyway.

Huh, I haven't played a lot of online FPSes besides Valve's, and in the times where Shy or other girls were using their microphones, and random people got in, there weren't any misogynistic comments. Is the situation with other games that bad that EA had to do something (stupid)?

It's a common science fact that gamers on Xbox Live, PSN, and most PC games (and quite a few TF2 servers themselves) are filled with egotistical jerks assholes complete utter scumbags that keep jars of testosterone on hand at all times, to regularly inject themselves with each hour.

If you want to be more-than-good at a game, you have to be arrogant as hell and back, and juvenile sexism is part of the overall system of building up your ego as much as possible. Calling people gay while asking them to suck your nether regions is another hypocritical part.
