New gaming sites

So seeing as how the Escapist is pretty shady, I no longer want to support the site.

Which means I need a new website for news in the gaming world. Are there any others that are good for commentary as well as other forms of entertainment?

I wish I could recommend the sites I'm currently writing for, but I really can't.

I will say you should check out Kirk Hamilton's articles at Kotaku because the ones I've seen are absolutely brilliant. He did a rhyming article describing his hands-on with Saints Row 3. I almost never go to Kotaku, but when I do it's to read what he's written.

Someone actually set up a site specifically for linking to Kirk Hamilton's stuff!

Kirktaku

I read rockpapershotgun for overall PC stuff and siliconera for PSP stuff, mostly.

I recommend Giant Bomb, it's similar to the Escapist (well, lacks the funny videos), but I RSS feed Giant Bomb, The Escapist, Kill Screen, 4 Color Rebellion, Action Button Dot Net, and the A.V. Club, seems to cover all the major gaming news (the Escapist and Giant Bomb overlap enough on news stories that I figure I'm not missing anything). I used to subscribe to Kotaku but they seriously post like 400 stories a day, I kid you not. There's also Destructoid, I might subscribe to that on RSS now that I remember it exists.

My Google Reader has Rock Paper Shotgun, Kotaku, Joystiq, and I really don't miss anything in the gaming industry between those three (and usually read in that order).

Kotaku and Joystiq tend to have most of the same articles. Kotaku tends to have more numerous articles of lower quality, though I must admit they also seem to post more obscure things the other two will not.

Giant Bomb has Dan Hsu right?

For what he did in terms of calling out Peter Moore, he's my goddamned hero.

I like Totillo's stuff, generally, though I haven't been to Kotaku in forever.
