Final Fantasy XIII-2 Thread of "Oh. Hey, this game looks pretty good."
So, I didn't like Final Fantasy XIII, but I liked its combat. XIII-2's combat is the same, but adds little things to boss fights to make it more visually interesting, and you can get monsters in your party to fill various paradigm roles. This is pretty cool. Wish there were more improvements, but I can dig it.
I also dug the Moogle and all the little functions he has. Nothing big, but hey it's a small thing that makes the game a little more varied. We also get towns, which XIII was missing. We also get minigames, which keep it from being fight fight fight cutscene fight fight. Even better! I was also happy that Lightning is still hella strong, as she should be after XIII. I just found out apparently she's almost a deity and guards the shrine of some goddess in Valhalla. And then they revealed that there would be time travel and which time and place players traveled to wasn't some linear path but something they get to choose and such. And I squee'd. XIII-2 probably won't be a great game, but it'll definitely be pretty good. I'm excited. |
I loved FF13, and it looks like everything is just generally BETTER in 13-2.
The sole exception is the party members. Serah just seems useless, and Noel sounds like a wuss. But at least we won't have to lug around Vanille anymore, right? ...Right? |
Sounds like Square Enix may announce Final Fantasy XIII-3 at TGS.
WHELP. |
Announcing sequels before the preceeding game is out? It's bad enough when it's done with Day 1 DLCs and such. :raise:
|
Final Fantasy XIV was announced before Final Fantasy XIII released, after all.
|
That went great.
|
I didn't say it was a good idea!
I just said it happened! |
I don't know, I may try this out, but after I started playing a different game on my PS3 I physically could not get myself to put the disc back in.
Any word on if XIII-2 will have a tutorial period that's NOT 60% of the game? |
The creators have confirmed that it won't have a long, drawn-out tutorial.
