fuck Wind Waker, let's talk about SKYWARD SWORD

So the other day I was like "you know what'd own is a Zelda game where everything is floating sky islands and you get to fly around on a bird or some shit". And then I looked and that's literally the exact Zelda game that they're making? WISH GRANTED I GUESS

Skyward Sword does look pretty awesome. I like the whole 'ground world' and 'sky world' thing. I've missed having two distinct and full worlds to explore since LttP and OoT.

You get dialogue choices in this one, so you can be a snarky childhood friend at Zelda, which sounds awesome.

Also Nintendo says this game is going to be between 50 and 100 hours long.

They said that about Twilight Princess.

I'm hoping for more interesting and involving NPCs. Zelda games were getting good at that till, again, TP.

Yes, and Twilight Princes was Too Damn Long.

One of the more hugely disappointing things in WW - aside from not getting to nut-stab the king - is how it drops Hyrule from OOT right there under the water in a way that makes it look like you might actually get to do something there, then just goes like, NOPE.

I felt that Twilight Princess was a good length. I would prefer more in the way of optional sidequests (ie. not fetch quests, not collection "quests") but if Skyward Sword is that length or longer, I'll be happy.

...Of course, I'm a little bit of a Twilight Princess fanboy. If they made a sequel with 1) Midna and 2) wolf sections that didn't revolve around grabbing those stupid teardrops, I'd be the happiest. Like, I was one of the few people who enjoyed playing as Wolf Link, and I kind of enjoyed the gloomier tone it had.

I just wish they had kept Zant as the villain instead of bringing Ganondorf out of fucking nowhere.

EDIT: Like, have they said who the villain is yet in Skyward Sword? Because I'm sure the villain will be super cool and everything, and if they kick him/her out in favor of Ganondorf again I'll be upset. Ganondorf's neat and all but he's not so neat that he needs to overshadow everyone else in the universe.

The 50-100 hours should come from the RPG elements they are putting into it, such as crafting weaponry with goods dropped by monsters, etc. Dunno if there is an experience system.

They've said no Ganon. The villain is this guy.
