Earlenomics 101
 

An amazing idea just hit me recently.

Fact: The US economy is shit right now.

Fact: The Mexico economy is arguably worse.

Fact: Drug lords make ungodly amounts of money.

Theory: Ultimate Stimulus Package

Step 1: Buy Mexico and make it a part of the US. Shouldn't be too hard since we can borrow money when we need to buy shit, and we have a strong level of influence.

Step 2: Use ownership of Mexico as authority to launch a fast and merciless military campaign against the drug lords in Mexico, with something along the line of a pincer attack where half of our forces for the operation start at the southern tip to prevent escapes.

Step 3: Confiscate all of the drugs, all of it. Street price of our entire findings should compete with the Federal budget.

Step 4: Temporarily make our main export these drugs. If we can market and deal properly, we can get something like 500% of the base value of every shipment taken off of our debt we owe the receiving country (preferably countries like China so that we can knock out large portions of our debt).

Step 5: Should any debt/notable drug lords remain, repeat steps 2 through 4 (step 1 too if the country is close by) and use whatever excess we have after the debt is gone to bring more money back into our economy.

This looks like a pretty solid idea, especially if we decide to harness all of the labs and fields we come across for this stuff. Anyone have any suggestions or refinements for this plan?

Edit: Set up your own production lines, its cheaper to build a factory to make huge amounts of a drug than it is to buy a country.
