Chrono Trigger coming to the iPhone

First, Square is most assuredly out of their damn minds to have FFT for $16. The game may be great, but damn... It is TEN FRIGGIN DOLLARS on another console! And looking at the reviews of Square's other games on the iPhone, people complain about the choppy framerate and other bugs that lead to a poor porting of the title. You don't have the option to flip the screen in other titles, along with no multitasking support, combat memory, etc. So why should I pay overly high prices for a game that's better on other consoles? THINK Square, THINK! I know it's hard for you, but it helps us comprehend what goes through your tiny monopolistic minds. |

Then again, so does an iPhone.

This is way too much anger over a game being ten dollars instead of five dollars that SHOULD be anger that this is probably the shitty translation version with those shitty endings that handcuff the game to fucking Cross.
Fucking, fucking Cross. |
It's been this long since the last Chrono Trigger discussion? Dang.
Yeah but anyway, I'm honestly surprised Square hasn't decided to make an actual "upgraded" version of Chrono Trigger yet - like the numerous graphically enhanced* versions of FF1, FF2 and FF4. On Final Fantasy Tactics: To be fair, the PSP version has crappy loading times whenver you do anything for some bizarre reason. Maybe they'll fix that. Maybe. *= *insert people raging over FF4DS' 3D* |
I'm of the opinion that the party stopped Dalton in the timeline in which they fought him in the bonus dungeons, and Cross happened in a split-off timeline.
Mainly because I actually haven't played Cross, and it insults everyone's intelligence to assume that they wouldn't be able to nip his plan in the bud when he blatantly told them what and where (and they have a time machine, so "when" doesn't matter). And the game says "multiple timelines exist", so yeah. Cross aside, I like the DS translation. And I think it's fine being 10 bucks. That's less than a quarter of what I paid for it on DS, after all. |
As I may have already said before:
All endings for Chrono Trigger are canon. It's the nature of the game. Cross is what happens in one timeline and Lavos somehow finds out that it can mix timelines together and then proceeds to screw with everything. |
Finally, something decent to play on the iPhone, if I didn't already have the superior DS port...

a bit off topic, but cross is now on the PS store... I'm tempted to buy it, but these threads always make me question that
