OOC: Well, I have two ideas in mind...

1) PRISON-BREAK! Except that wouldn't help.

2) We do some cheesy "Two years later" thing and find that things have basically gone straight to hell.

3) We give Jade the Aegis program, and turn her loose on Mastermind.

OOC: Yeah, let her run the RP. Don't worry, plans have already been made about how to deal with the passage of time. I already pointed out to batgirl that in two years things would indeed go straight to hell...so she's figuring some kind of faster contingency...but I'm talking too much.

BIC: Wolf heard his PDAP ring again, this time it was Kaitlin.

"Results are in...it's both good and bad."

"Bad news first." Wolf said.

"Jade's been sentenced to 2 years of reformation prison for her hacking crimes. Once she is 'reformed' though, she'll be back in charge of the unit."

"How can there be any good news to come of that?" Wolf asked "Reformation Prison is just a fancy euphemism for 'we beat the living shit out of you until you promise to be good'! Furthermore...in two years Mastermind could make huge gains just like he did before...especially since we lost our hacking specialist...for all we know it could be total anarchy!"

"Well, I guess the good news is that the Cyber Force is not being disbanded, and Jade was allowed to perform some final actions as unit commander. I've been fully commissioned into the unit, and you're now leading the unit until she returns."

Wolf paused, then grinned. "I'm guessing the General isn't too happy about that." With me in charge...I can keep the General from getting us all killed. Plus, since the Force still exists...I can keep Mastermind from winning.

"Not at all, especially since Jade promised to hunt him down once she got out of jail."

"Well, she'll have to get in line behind Monk."

"Speaking of Monk...how is he?"

"He's still determined to leave, and he thinks that it's his fault Jade's going to prison. There's no way I can reason with him...and now your cousin thinks he can do better." Wolf said glancing at Angel. "Let's just say it's wierd that he's trying to get someone drunk in order to reason with him. I mean, when I was tanked...I didn't listen to anybody...hence why I tried to fly a jet completely drunk one time..."

"Oh for Christ's sake. Listen, let me try to talk to Monk. As a former captive of Mastermind myself, I may be able to reach him somehow."

"Okay...I guess you could try. I don't know if it will do any good...but short of letting Angel go through with the liquored-up plan...I'm out of ideas."

"I'll be there in a few seconds."

Monk clentched his eyes as he heard the banging on his door. He didn't order a pizza, nor did he want one. However, being the kind person he was, he rushed to the door, flung it open, and took a look around the hallway. Everyone was surprised that they didn't see the Monk they knew. A cool-headed, calm man. What they saw was a man on the edge, ready to kill the first thing that would come in his range. "Listen!" He bellowed, getting everyone's attention rather quickly and easily. "I'm out of here! No amount of talking, or beer, or friendship is going to take me out of it! Now leave me alone so that I can finish getting ready! I'm getting the hell out of here for all your own good, not for mine! So LEAVE ME ALONE!" Thus the door was slammed, almost knocking Angel back via wind.

Monk leaned on the door, slid down until he was siting on the ground, and covered his face with his hands. His hair was getting messy, and even in the darkened room, his skin seemed to grow a little darker as well. Leave me alone... just... let me die in peace... It's for everyone's good...

Wolf looked at the stunned Angel. "I warned you..." he said. He heard Kaitlin approach from behind.

"You heard that...right?"

"Yes...sounds like he really doesn't want anyone to talk to him..."

"I think he really wants out...interfering is pointless."

"I think you're absolutely right...let's just leave him be. If he really thinks he's a threat to us all...then maybe he needs to get away. It's a shame really...I thought maybe I could've reached him somehow."

"Well...maybe some other time you'll get your chance...but now isn't it." Wolf said as he started walking away. Kaitlin followed him.

Wraith shakes his head, standing with one arm propped up on his other elbow, cradling his chin. "Hope he doesn't get himself killed..."

And then he goes up to Angel and puts a hand on his shoulder. "We should probably let him be alone. At least, for a while."

Angel handed the pizza off to Wraith.

Then he glanced at the door. Quite happily, he pulled his PDAP, and put in an old program, one of his first actually, that he called lock-breaker. Esentially, it was a small contained EMP that knocked out locking systems for a moment.

In that brief span of time, Angel opened the door, and didn't even wait for Monk to say anything, before launching into a speech. Half-consciously, he remembered he hadn't built a back-up copy, so he would esentially have to write it again. Bugger, but oh well...

"I've been here before Monk. Mastermind came for me, and all I wanted was to be left alone. I just wanted the world to stop trying to help me, or trying to kill me. I've been down this road Monk. I'm telling you now, there isn't any salvation at the end."

He pulled a photo from his wallet. It was of him and Mary in front of the Eiffel tower, all those years ago. Halfheartedly, he tossed it to Monk.

"Her name was Mary. I loved her and was going to marry her. But what did I do? The moment things were difficult, when I should've stayed and stood by her, I ran. I ran, and told everyone that they shouldn't care about me. And know what? To this day, I regret sending her an e-mail that said I had to leave her. I didn't. I took the coward's way out. You gain nothing from this. Do it if you like, be a coward, and I will have no sympathy for you because you were warned. Or you could tough it out like a man."

He turned, closed the door, and took a beer from the 12-pack. He chugged it, sighed, then said, "Shame for a pizza to go to waste. Wanna' come split it with me?"

As an after-thought, he sent the same request to Wolf and Kaitlin via Wolf's PDAP.

Night fell and Jade was finally released from her cage. She had on an anklet though that would electrocute her if she tried to escape...or tried to kill the general. She was hearded out of her cell like some kind of cattle. "The judge said you can say goodbye tonight, you have one free night. Try anything funny nd you get 20000 volts through your body." She shuffled down the hallway to her first destination, Monk's room. The door was closed, but she assumed he was still in there. She knocked lightly, "Monk, it's me..."

Monk sighed, and looked at the closed door. "Yeah? What do you want? Come to say that I shouldn't leave either?" There was a pause, when there was a click at the door. "If you want... you can come in. Careful though. I with my two best friends..."
