Why is Tebowing a thing?

It totally is!

Really... early this year was Planking, not it's Tebowing. Google has a couple hundred thousand results on the matter...

But here is the big ass question... Why?

And yes, i already know the answer... damn i'm getting old

What IS Tebowing?

Osterbaum 12-16-2011 10:01 AM

Nowhere near as stupid as planking.

Geminex 12-16-2011 10:03 AM

There's this football player called Tim Tebow who's apparently risen to prominence. He makes a custom of praying before a match, kneeling, with his forehead on his fist. And apparently, all the kewl kids are now doing it. So wa~a~a~acky amirite?

I'd say it's pretty near. At least planking requires some strength and coordination if you do it somewhere interesting. This is just "LOL IM BOWING JUST LIKE THAT OTHER DUDE"

Flarecobra 12-16-2011 10:20 AM

To be honest, I've NEVER seen anyone actually doing it here.

I'm glad what would normally be a deeply religious experience has been reduced to a stupid meme high schoolers do in the hallway between classes.

Maybe Tebow should realize you're supposed to pray in your closet instead of in public like some kind of freaking PHARISEE or something. READ THE BIBLE MAN

EDIT: Also it totally looks more like the Thinker than praying if you ask me. If you're going to perform a stylized prayer victory move shouldn't you put your hands up in front of you like a little kid saying "Now I lay me down to sleep", and be on both knees? That is a more stylized prayer victory move.

Tim Tebow appears to be one of those public figures that's actually a good guy. He's constantly torn apart for his style of quarterbacking and even picked on for his religious beliefs. Now I'm no Christian, but I admire I guy that spends his off-seasons building homes and helping the needy in impoverished countries.

The guy likes to pray. And now his religiousness has become a meme which proves that no one is willing to take good people at face value.

Wait, this is why people won't shut the fuck up about this guy?

I hate this country sometimes.

Also, he isn't even a good quarterback, but somehow wins all the time in the 4th quarter it seems. It's like God is on his side and some people actually believe that God is now interested in football. To each their own.

Don't worry, my team took care of that for you.
As a Pats fan I have embraced the fact that we are totally the Dark Side Imperialists of the world and Satan is totally pulling for us. It is awesome. It is my one embrace of evil. I laugh manically during Pats games as if Brady and Belichick were dictators conquering the world.
