Why do I keep coming back to NPF?

I do not know. I mean the original reason I joined was because I liked 8-Bit Theater so much, but that has been over for a long time. Most of the stuff that is talked about is boring, most of the stuff that I like is either dismissed or lampooned by the forum. Maybe it is my hope that someone might agree with what I say from time to time, I do not know. I guess in some ways I can relate with most of the regular members, even if I do not always agree with them. Maybe the rest of you can help, why do we keep coming back to a place that is almost never that satisfying to visit? :raise:

I swear to god this thread stays on-topic and gender indifferent or stab time.

Well, there's the door regardless.

I hope the thread tag is genuine. 'cause if not, there's the door.

e: Oh no, was I supposed to, like, foster the joke or something?

In my own case, its the interesting people & discussion topics. Admittedly, I don't pipe up nearly as much as I used too, or actively take part in many discussions, but I still hang around.

Of course, given how infrequently I post (reinforced by the fact, that I've never been a big poster), I'm sure most think I'm a new user or something. Not a guy who's been around since the near onset of 8-Bit theater.

Heck, I recall when Shiney was known as Shiney Shine Shines & had a thing for eating faces.

Should I not have answered seriously?

The site is important to me because of the comics I post, and I hope some day they're as important to the forumites as 8-bit was (though I doubt that'll happen). But it seems as of now people are more interested in discussing the webcomics on other sites, or 8-bit, and aren't as interested in The Dreadful yet (though its threads have been picking up lately, and there are a lot of posts on them, so I'm definitely encouraged!). That makes sense because all that other stuff has years and years of content (and are probably better, though I think what I do is pretty good. I have fun at least.). It looks like I have a lot of work to do!

I also like looking around the forums because I like the discussions here and most of the people are cool. I've made some good friends in the short time I've been around. And I also think if I can know the audience better I can make more enjoyable stuff.

And I won't mention dicks so Snake will be able to keep the topic on its proper course :)

Man, MSperoni, I'm sorry, but I'm not a fan of the setting but I'm totally a fan of HIKYM and your drawings are off the wall awesome.

Now, for the forum itself:

Hell if I know why I keep coming back.

Even I'm not sure how serious I'm being.

But Bob, ripping off your sprites made me appreciate the craft that went into making the art for the games I played as a whelp and minimalist art in general. You helped shape me into the awful, tasteless person I am today. How could I not remember the name that dragged me down to this lowly state?

And I come here because I like to pretend you guys are my friends. Much more convenient than real friends, since I don't have to talk to you.

Amake 01-05-2012 12:50 PM

It's not easy for me to make friends, even Internet friends like you guys. So I tend to hold on to them at any cost.

I guess that's the real reason I'm here. Heck, four days out of five you're the closest I get to human contact.

Sado-masochism.

Actually it's probably just habit at this point, or even a necessity.

Would you quit going to the bathroom?

TDK 01-05-2012 11:52 PM

If I had a choice? Fuck yeah. Pooping is terrible.
