New TDKR Trailer

*slides a cold glass across the bar--it teeters on the edge before crashing over, spilling fresh movie trailer all over the place*

Also just gonna go ahead and get this bit of the conversation out of the way: Smarty thinks this will be shit.

(Alternatively, I considered setting this up as just an all-purpose movie trailer dump / comment thread, since it seems a little thin to create a new one just for this--the last TDKR thread had fallen off the last page, or I'd have used that. I was feeling lazy, but if any mod feels like that's a good/better idea...)

*ahem*

FUCK YEAH!

Whyyyyyyyy? Why does the bat-jet look so stupid?

Like yeah I get that it's pretty much "we revamped that armored car/tank you were using as a batmobile to also be a flying armored car/tank" but it still looks stupid.

This is the first time i find out that Cobra Commander is in this movie, had no idea!

This trailer pretty much confirms this is at least partly an adaptation of No Man's Land, what with the bridges cutting off a huge swathe of Gotham from the mainland and the earthquake machine presumably being used to keep the military at bay, while Bane creates a dystopian prison-state that reverses social norms by imprisoning the rich and affluent while setting all the prisoners loose to wreak havoc. Elements of Knightfall are also pretty apparent, obviously.

That second bit makes sense, when you consider Selina's line from previous trailers about how Bruce will "wonder how you could live so large" and all that jazz.

That, and Bruce and Alfred appear to be in an actual prison in many scenes in the last trailer before this one, wearing as they do rags and sadness beards, wandering around a concrete pool with other people looking much the same.

This looks dumb.

You can't just steal Smarty's schtick!

A measured and intelligent response, we all concur.

i guess it does look a tad underwhelming, but i'm not sure what i wanted from this movie anyway.... It looks like a decent fun movie to watch, but i'm not as psyche about as i was with The Dark Knight...

i still think that Batman is the least interesting thing in any batman movie, and Catwoman looks absolutely dispensable for me on this one... Bane looks interesting, but so far he is pretty much Ras Al'ghul 2.0 for me so far...

I dunno how this is going down, but i still hope it will be good, Batman deserves a decent movie.

Also, i'm still hoping for that Batman Beyond movie where Old Batman is played by Kevin Conroy and Old Joker is played by Mark Hamill
