The Sands of time - Choose your own Adventure

I've been thinking about running a game on NPF for a while and I discussed it briefly on Ajax with a few people and i've decided to throw up a thread and see if people would be interested.

I've not nailed everything down and i'm open to discussion if people don't like certain elements and would prefer to have them changed.

Basic premise: Think Civilisation meets Populous

The players are a single gestalt deity like entity that has control over a single tribe through a line of oracles that live in the tribe, it is the players job to help direct the tribe. as the tribe gets larger and more powerful so does the deity that the players represent eventually gaining the ability to directly effect the world in potentially profound ways how ever using this power weakens you.

typically however the players would act through the oracles giving advice and pushing the tribe towards certain endeavors, the details of exactly what you tell the tribe to do being upto the player.

PS, I'm willing to drop the whole populous aspect and make it a text based variant on Civilisation if people would prefer that.

Oh right, I forgot to do this in the opening post.

So question time!

would you prefer

A)
To be more focused around the tribe and eventually nation as a whole? Focusing on the effects and actions of the entire group and placing less emphasis on individual action in which case game speed will be much faster and will eventually evolve into the modern era. Whilst keeping the deity aspects

B)
The same as above but removing all deity aspects.

C)
Larger focus on individuals within the tribe and much slower paced game which would be unlikely to reach modern era as things will be happening on a much more personal time scale more emphasis on players power as a deity and influencing individuals to do certain actions.

D)
?????? some other variation, i'm open to other peoples ideas on what they would like to see

C at first and then moving into A as tribal population increases.

D, all of the above. Full world simulation go!

I think a larger scale, charting our progress from the tribal days to modern times would be cool. Definitely focus more on the latter end of the development, but portray certain individuals as driving forces. If there was a WWII in our adventure, you'd portray the war as a whole, but emphasise Churchill, Stalin and Hitler, for instance. That way we get development, but with interesting characters. And maybe our deity's interest could manifest in these major characters?
