Teachers

I know not everyone falls under this catagory, but I noticed many of the posters are school aged. I personally have trouble with teachers who're older and are getting cynical and pompous. One in particual tried her best to fail me, insulted me multiple times in front of the entire class, and told my mother I was the "class clown" because one the first day she was off topic (as I later found out she usually is) and I corrected her about something computer related (so trivial I've forgotten what it was).

Does/did anyone else have a teacher like that, or any other teachers they had problems with?

If anything, I found that most of my teachers were all pretty decent people trying to do their job as well as they could given the inferior material they had to work with. Sure, I had problems with some teachers, but most of them were my own fault.

Mean or nasty teachers... well, I had gruff and stern teachers, but that was only during class. After hours we could talk and joke with them like normal human beings, which was a pretty good thing.

Yeah. I have teachers like that too, but some of them are just plain mean! Not even other teachers like them. I kinda feel sorry for them, but they really do bring it on themselves.

I've had a couple who I thought may have been mentally ill. On the whole even the mean teachers never really punished me unless I had it coming anyway, but I did have at least two who would seemingly go out of their way to single me out, for whatever reason. These two were also the two worst teachers I've ever had. I couldn't tell you shit about what I learned in their classes. But when it comes down to it, no matter how retarded they seem to be, you still got to put up with them. It's great preparation for the real world in my opinion, because the working world isn't far off from highschool, you'll find yourself working for some real pricks sometimes, with a bunch of morons you'd never normally associate with. Just like highschool...goodtimes...

I had this one teacher, whom everyone thought was utterly retarded. Turns out, his life was a complete ruin. But he brought it upon himself. He only showed up for class about every other day, and the instructions he left with the subs were crap.
He
was
lame.

Way back when I was takeing eight grade science our teacher left to have a baby. So we got this sub. He showed up everyday but I new more than he did. He thought oxygen was just O and ozone was O2. I quickly corrected him and he didn't believe me. That was until I found the chemical formulas in the chapter he had just assigned. Then he still didn't believe me for a few minutes before he finally gave in. After that most questions in class were directed at me. Fun times.

Our class got one of my teachers to raise the roof once and yell "Woot woot!" at the top of her lungs! It was great, but I don't think she ever forgave us.
Most of my teachers have been stupid, there was one who assigned us one assignment throughout the entire quarter without any tests and then gave me a C- on what I thought was quality work.

I had this one teacher in 8th grade who was obviously a racist. She would literally call everyone "white trash". Then there was my biology teacher, who's lectured consisted of no less than 7 overheads which had to be copied completely if you wanted any hope of passing the test.

One of the best teachers I've had is my chemistry teacher this year. Whatever he says, you remember it. He jokes around with us, shows some really cool reactions, and even lets us re-check our tests if he sees we made a simple error. Another great one was my band teacher in Jr. High. He told the best stories, and we were the best band in our area.

I had a bio teacher with a monotonic voice. It never changed even when he told a joke. Oh and did I mention he didn't believe in evolution yet he tought biology and touched upon evolutionary theory.

I think my favorite teacher I've ever had was my US history teacher. He actually made history fun. Like how he told us about how he was speed-reading through a book on Teddy Roosevelt, and the part about how he became known as "Teddy" and "Teddy Bear" and my teacher said he misread "he spared the bear cub" with "he speared the bear cub."

From what he said, he was telling this elaborate story about how Roosevelt had this big stick and speared the bear in the head, and one of the kids raised their hand and said "Umm. The book said he SPARED the bear."

Then he tells us about how his american bulldog kills things (cats, chickens, etc.) and we all yell at him for not chaining his dog up.

Quote from teacher about his dog:
Quote:

The children that live in my neighborhood call him "El Diablo" because once he ate this old lady's pet chicken. Everytime one of their balls lands in my yard they come up and ask me to get it instead of just running into it.
