Makes some sense to me. There was a throwaway line earlier about Kit's father being a wizard. It may have been a joke, but it was never mentioned that Kit was a "half-devikin" so I guess demonhood or whatever could just be passed down by the mother.

SpoilerAll devikin are female, and when they get pregnant they give birth to another girl that is pretty much identical to them. So Kit and Poe would look like their mother, and so on. Kit is unique in the sense that she takes all the standard racial traits of a devikin and turns them up a notch, and also has a very high affinity for weapons and enhanced strength/reflexes.

Well, she ain't a zombie, at least.

Given the presence of zombies, ghosts, devils, necromancy, and so forth, I'm slightly surprised there isn't more of an "anti-evil" bent to worldly weapons. So far there was only the one bad-silver bullet that shot Kit, and ones Kit has now alluding to now, and possibly something based out of Moomonism. Maybe a holy cattleprod?

There's actually an entire faction dedicated to eradicating supernatural threats. They just haven't showed up yet :D

They've been mentioned (Jeanne was talking with Marcus about them on Page 79).

I'm really looking forward to getting to them because one of my favorite characters is a part of their group :P

A long time ago I was writing a fantasy story just for fun, and Kit was a part of it and so was this other woman named Charsi (after the blacksmith from Diablo 2). Charsi was the main character, and when I came up with The Dreadful I wanted her in it too. Charsi was a kind of fighter and Kit was a thief. However Kit was about 12-14 in that story...Kit became the main character of The Dreadful because I liked her more. She was funnier and more prone to hijinks and violence :D (Kit is also older in The Dreadful. She's old enough to jiggle around in a bikini and not have it be creepy, but young enough to be immature and impulsive).

Anyway, I have delayed putting this group in the story because I'm waiting for the right time. I think it will be soon though. I have actually drawn about eight pages with Charsi in them, but I haven't used them yet because I felt they broke the flow of the story too much.

Wait wait wait.

So Kit's stumbled onto the undead remains of an underground pokemon smuggling ring?!

Please, not the spider-zombie-pikachu!
