So one day I hopped into the NPFU steam chat and POS linked a livestream of the most amazing and pure fighting game to ever exist. Divekick. And then I learned that the game was just meant as a joke and parody of fighting games, and wasn't actually something I could buy.

And then they started a kickstarter campaign, and now I'm debating if I should drop $10 to help fund this game (and preorder it), or drop $50 and get this pretty awesome T-Shirt.http://i.imgur.com/DnzL2.png

Well regardless of how much I choose to pay, you all should help fund this amazing fighting game.

If for some insane reason you're not convinced yet, there's gameplay videos on the kickstarter page, and here's one right here just for the sake of convenience.



The game has distilled the essence of all fighting games into two buttons: Jump and Divekick. It's pure, it's visceral, it's -insert buzzword here-.

But most importantly, they want to reach $40,000 in order to help implement online play. So stop wasting your time here, and go drop some money on this kickstarter. If any game was deserving of a kickstarter, it's this game.

I definitely intend to throw some money at this over the course of the month.

I linked this ages ago in the fighting game thread, but I figured it was worth doing again here. Ladies and gentlemen, the official Divekick trailer:

Hahaha, I don't have the kind of money right now to donate $50 to their cause, but my god that t-shirt looks amazing. I hope they just sell that t-shirt by itself so I can support them that way.

The kickstarter met the required amount, but was then canceled. But don't be sad! It was canceled because they made a deal with a publisher, so we're going to be getting Divekick anyway! As an added bonus, they're still going through with the backer rewards (albeit slightly modified).

Best part: They will be selling those awesome t-shirts super cheap (they say around $15 +shipping) since they no longer need them for profit.

Best part, part deux: Since I pledged $60, under the new "backer" rewards, I can submit up to three potential tips from Uncle Sensei. I have no idea what to make them, so I need your help NPF. What should I submit for my Uncle Sensei tips?

True master of the dive-kick must learn from nature. Soar like eagle, and kick like falcon.

Actually, Aldurin's comment has me wondering if there might be a shadowey, nefarious kick-diver. Button one sends you kicking up into the air, but then you rush back down and are completely vulnerable. Shake up the formula.
