Wearing it is equipment. Having it built in is a Special. Equipment armor could be ripped or knocked off by an enemy. Built in armor couldn't be removed exept through death or a whole lot of pain...

Dante 06-02-2004 12:18 AM

Hmm, I see, I see... How many cannonballs can a reanimated carry?

Kazastankas 06-02-2004 05:11 AM

Hmm. If possible, how about a Rune of Shaping, that can shape the silver of the spiked chain to form it into another weapon?

Forever Zero 06-02-2004 11:32 AM

Dante: Normally, about 10 I believe. However you could take an ammo pack that double it to 20.

Kaz: No, a rune that lets you shift it to whatever you want? No, that's way too much magic. Try again.

Kazastankas 06-02-2004 11:37 AM

Heh, I have a feeling that those re-tries can become spam. How about lightning/electricity?

Forever Zero 06-02-2004 11:43 AM

I'll allow lightning and electricity.

And the re-tries don't become spam until they lead off into pointless discussions that are only one line long (And are pointless discussions are much longer then one line...). As long as they stay on the topic of the RP, even though they are short, I'm sure they're okay.

How important are Athletics in melee fighting? Does high points in a melee fighting skill cover what Athletics would do for melee fighting (At least at a basic level)?

And would brass knuckles/claws count as a melee weapon, or just unarmed fighting with a little boost?

BMHadoken 06-02-2004 07:39 PM

So wait, what exactly are re-tries and what is the dice rolls gunna cover?

Forever Zero 06-02-2004 07:55 PM

Athletics is most things like did you make that long jump, did you successfuly climb that wall, etc. Unarmed would be did my fist/foot connect with the enemy, and how much damage did it do. Melee would be did my sword connect with the enemy, and do as much damage as possible. So no, athletics can't really replace lower level skills. And yes, brass knuckles of claws qould count as Unarmed still, not melee.

For normal battle type stuff, dice rolls won't be important. If you are taking on the low level grunts, just have at it. But for the big or important events, I will figure a way to get dice rolls in there. If you are trying to jump that 6 foot gap unaided, or if you are trying to use your pistol to off a target 100 feet away, or to see if your bullets are hitting anything vital in that charging werewolf that might slow it down, I'll do a dice roll based on your skill in the category.

IHateMakingNames 06-02-2004 08:05 PM

A roll for a 6 foot jump?

BMHadoken 06-02-2004 08:20 PM

What about 'skills' we don't even have a point/star in? Like if my guy picks up a rifle, then tries to shoot, will it explode in his face or something?

Forever Zero 06-02-2004 08:31 PM

No, but just don't expect to hit anything. The nasty failures are only reserved for trying to use Exotic weaponry without the skill points for it...

And a 6 foot jump could be a rift in the ground, or jumping from one tower to a nearby battlement or something.

IHateMakingNames 06-02-2004 08:40 PM

I can make a six foot jump though...

BMHadoken 06-02-2004 08:41 PM

So this is starting today right...cuz this is the only thing keeping me from finishing up the skill buffet for my Jedi Rp...

Forever Zero 06-02-2004 09:18 PM

You can fly, you could make a 100 foot jump without a problem...

And no, this RP is on hold until I get over this summer cold I seem to have come down with. The RP will start one day after my cold clears up...

Darth SS 06-02-2004 09:19 PM

Take Claritin, or Reactine. It helps.

And on a side note...

Damn time constraints....

BMHadoken 06-02-2004 10:25 PM

Time constraints?

And I'd just have some Tylenol and rest and start up an RP or two.

On a side note, anybody notice they changed the little under title on the Forum heading? Did Rai petition to change it because of all the God-Mod hating?

I noticed that. Probably for the reason you just said.

Forever Zero 06-05-2004 06:18 PM

Alright, time to kick this RP into gear. First post will be up in a bit.

And I didn't notice a change... What was the title before they changed it?

Krylo 06-05-2004 06:52 PM

"God-Mode on!" was the title before.

Also: Is it day or night time? I didn't see that vital tidbit of info...

Forever Zero 06-05-2004 06:55 PM

Oops. I meant to include that it's night time.

And I'm suddenly not surprised we had a problem wit God-Modding...

BMHadoken 06-05-2004 06:57 PM

Would it be ok if I could switch out a stake for an extra gun?

Forever Zero 06-05-2004 06:58 PM

Sure.

Krylo 06-05-2004 07:21 PM

Just to be sure... vampires can only fly while in their 'full vampire' state, correct?

Forever Zero 06-05-2004 07:47 PM

Yes, they have to transform to be able to fly.

IHateMakingNames 06-05-2004 07:57 PM

Make a discussion thread?

Also, is transforming into vampire form (And back to human) an easy thing?

Forever Zero 06-05-2004 08:00 PM

It's isn't super hard, but it takes one post to do, so you can't just constantly warp into and out of form at will, you need to concentrate to do it.
And Discussion thread is on the way.
