RocketNinja Product ideas

Umm put stuff here that you'd like to buy and stuff I guess. Keep it within reason. If the mods don't like this thread, I guess I'll get yelled at for making it, if not... I won't. Oh well... anyway, seemed like a few people had some pretty decent ideas for stuff to sell on RocketNinja and I thought maybe yall might have some more. I mean, we're the ones buying this stuff, right? Anyway, my idea: Swordchucks. You can get some pretty cheap swords from budk, and then add a chain to em and make swordchucks. Wouldn't serve a purpose, but they'd look cool.

RaiRai 06-02-2004 01:24 PM

Swordchucks = bad idea. In comic form, great, but I'm sure Brian doesn't want to be bombarded by letters from angry parents over weapons which could potentially harm their children.

Magic E-Mail Chicken 06-02-2004 01:35 PM

any weapon could harm children, but sword-chucks would basicly butcher them.

How about some of the usual things that you put characters on, like mousepads, coffe cups, hats, ect.

behemoth 06-02-2004 01:40 PM

Well shoot... I was just talking about stuff you could put on display... Not real weapons... or maybe... plastic toy swordchucks... hmm...

RaiRai 06-02-2004 01:44 PM

I supposed a swordchuck keyring could be a good idea, but making a whole displayable weapon would be too costly/time consuming.

Someone suggested in another thread that underwear would be a good idea. I just want a nice tank top instead of high neck T-shirt. That way I can still show off my cleavage, but show my support for 8bit in the process. XD

actually... The underwear thing was my idea LOL

BMHadoken 06-02-2004 01:46 PM

I still await my Sulk shirt...that better be one of the new designs...

Muffin Mage 06-02-2004 09:56 PM

I will make my Bag of Jesus t-shirt image this weekend, and that should be put on a shirt and sold.

Jack of Spades 06-02-2004 10:16 PM

bathrobes.
That'd be cool you could have one for white mage and another for black mage.

hats
I want Red Mage's hat!!

You have to be sure to make the attack penguin shirt too. (if that made no sense to youClick Here

Dice
Have a set of dive with 8-bit chars on them. Maybe him instead of the higest number you could put an 8-bit character.

Dice bags.
Put dice in them... duh

The white mage hooded sweatshirt. The black mage hooded sweatshirt.

Thiefs bag.

A sign. "Akbars Bedroom" Not a deathtrap or Not a Biohazard

"How about a double-ended key chain? Put one key at both ends and exclaim, 'Key-chucks, yo!' Sora wishes his weapons were this cool!"

Stover 06-02-2004 10:26 PM

I'd go for a Redmage hat.

Royalspork 06-02-2004 10:34 PM

and every girl needs a white mage hammer.
you need to sell:
Akbars discont 'pick up a date' lines
(NOT made by blackmage)

(sorry I couldn't resist)

Sithdarth 06-02-2004 11:55 PM

This thread has inspired my to use my knowledge of making foam practice swords to make swordchucks. If this pans out I'll try and get some pictures up.

Back on topic I'd pay for the keychucks and the hat. Underwear I'm not so sure of. All the other stuff sounds worth buying. In fact as soon as a get a little extra chash I think I'll get a few shirts too.

Pretty Mary K 06-03-2004 12:15 AM

A red mage hat would be spiff. It could be like, a red fedora with a feather in it. Fashionable.

I really like the idea of white mage hoodies and black mage sweaters, save for the fact that black mage's robe is virtually featureless.

Jack of Spades 06-03-2004 01:34 AM

I wouldnt pay for the 8-bit boxers mentioned earlier. Who would see them?

Men everywhere should be afraid...very afraid if that should come to pass.

More T-shitrs would be cool. Maybe have quotes from the comic. Like a King Steve shirt and have one of his quotes from King Steve Theater. Or show the light warriors over the pit of acid and have it say on the back the exchange of dialogue between BM and RM.
RM: I've got a plan if I could just get...my...spare...d20...HA!
ROLL!!
Plik FSSSSSS
RM:...I rolled my dice into the acid.
BM: Rather telling of the plan as a whole don't you think?

Wanna keep a moron busy for hours?
Have him talk to an NPC
NPC: Welcome to Corneria!
Fighter: I like swords!
NPC: Welcome to Corneria!
Fighter: I like swords!
NPC: Welcome to Corneria!

Or in Big bloody text on the front
IMPS!!

and on the back show a bunch of Imps chasing Garland or Carrying him away
Fighter: I like swords!

! 06-03-2004 01:50 AM

The day the King Steve shirt comes out will be a happy day for me.

RedMage 06-03-2004 04:42 AM

For all the people asking for a red mage hat, how do you propose we ship them?

Melfice 06-03-2004 05:00 AM

In a hat-box? Maybe expensive, but then you have the one, the only(not really though) Red Mages hat!

I'd really like that.

Anyway, I really like the keychucks idea. I think I can actually realize that. I've got a small chain still laying somewhere, and keys I have in abundance. (abundance means alot, right?)

If I can find the chain, I'll see if I can take a picture of it!

Ok, keep up with me here, this is a complicated concept.

In a.....box!

Sock_Munkey 06-03-2004 08:00 AM

Along with the bag of jesus you would need a penguin bacon/ccs shirt.
I would like a "I'm the wizard who did it" shirt. I like the key-chuck idea

behemoth 06-03-2004 12:30 PM

Lots of great ideas. I wonder if they're taking notes *nod nod* in fact... maybe they should make this thread a sticky *hint hint*

RangerAidan 06-03-2004 02:07 PM

the idea of Ideas: Black mage boxer shorts with BM on the front, yes, you called it, right over the junks, charging up a hadoken. Oh, my, the perverse symbolism!

no because if this is still here you could make the case that the idea is yours and you should get a share of profits off of it

behemoth 06-03-2004 02:46 PM

they could also write a disclaimer that any ideas put in this thread become property of brian clevinger and any and all companies he owns/maintains

Lunarshadow 06-03-2004 02:55 PM

A Red Mage shirt that says "Show me something that beats a natural 20, and I'll show you hateful lies".

Jack of Spades 06-03-2004 03:33 PM

I would buy a lot of these ideas

Viktor Von Russia 06-03-2004 09:24 PM

I've always been partial to Black Belt's "There were bricks and planks of wood...What was I supposed to do? NOT break them?" Could someone make something with that on it? A bumper sticker perhaps? Or for the more rabid fans, a karate uniform (the proper name for them escapes me at the moment) with the phrase emblazoned on the back? And I think some gloves, or perhaps an oven mitt with "THE CLAW!" or somesuch written on them would be bitchin'.

the same way you ship any hat proporly in a box full of those foam "s" shaped thingys...

Fifthfiend 06-03-2004 11:08 PM

You know what they should sell? Is light bulbs.

Light bulbs, labelled as 'Authentic Light Warrior Orbs of Destiny.'

On the box, they should have a warning label that reads "Caution: Destiny May Overheat."

Actually, RM's hate looks more like a pimp hat than a fedora with a feather to me.

Is there something I'm missing about hats that they can't be put in regular boxes? I always figured a hat's a hat's a hat(not a typo), and thus can be put in a box. I wasn't aware there were special ways to ship hats.

MFD 06-04-2004 12:09 AM

I always thought of Will Turner's hat at the end of PotC to be like Red Mage's hat.

A shirt that says "Because I'm Thief" would be nice, too.

I'm sure there would be suitable sized boxes from supermarkets and the like which they would be glad to GIVE you instead of having to buy them. It's just a question of finding the right store to give you the boxes. =3

Melfice 06-04-2004 06:07 AM

Muahahahaha! I've done it! Muahahahaha, now bow to my superior superiority!

I've created the keychucks! I will be making a photo later as I'm now at school. The chain isn't that long, but it's long enough to see it's a key chuck.

Jack of Spades 06-04-2004 01:08 PM

I bow to you for the creation of the keychucks

The cost of the hats would be expensive. A good hat would probably be about 60$ or 80$ plus shipping and handlind maybe 25$ so you'd spend near 100$ to get a RM hat.

The obsesive fans would probably buy it at that rate (me) but most casual fans probably wouldn't.
A bunch of my friends liked the idea of the White Mage sweatshirt. It would have the white mage pattern around it and have a hood. I've also been told the a white mage or blackmage bathrobe was a good idea.

Melfice 06-04-2004 01:15 PM

Sadly my camera doesn't work... Bloody camera!

You'll just have to trust me on my word.

behemoth 06-06-2004 02:23 PM

Going through this discussion, I've come to the conclusion that many of you are almost as insane as me, and I was wondering... Would anybody be willing to help me create an army to take over the universe, perhaps armed with keychucks?
Oh yeah... A shirt with a few swords on the back and on the front it says "I like swords."

Abkar Discount Salesman 06-06-2004 07:44 PM

How 'bout letting people order a t-shirt/poster/whatever with their favorite 8-bit Episode printed on it?

And underwear with a sword over the 'junk' and Fighter off to the side saying "Oooooh."

I have a very sick mind. :bmage:

Oh yeah, and little stuffed 8-Bit characters with little pull-strings that make them say some of their more famous quotes.

Jack of Spades 06-06-2004 10:53 PM
