With Mega Man’s anniversary slowly approaching next month, many are beginning to wonder if Rockman (Mega Man) Xover will really be the final nail in the coffin for the blue bomber. Well, Capcom USA wanted to let us know that it ain’t Xover. Senior vice-president, Christian Svensson, gave some reassuring words regarding the blue bomber’s fate and about his upcoming anniversary.

I can say with certainty that you’ve not seen the last of the Blue Bomber on consoles and handhelds, and, with luck, we’ll be celebrating his 50th anniversary, including all of the games you’re going to enjoy over the next 25 years.

To avoid any heartbreaks, he also wanted to make it clear that Mega Man games will only be announced once they have been green lit I certainly don’t wanna go through another Legends 3 scenario.

That said, an issue we’ve had in the past has been talking about games and announcing them before we’re certain they’re going to come out, which unfortunately has lead to profound disappointment for many fans. So for now, I’m going to have to stay mum about any details

So there you have it. I am hopeful that Capcom will some day bring back the Blue Bomber. I just certainly hope he won’t end up like this ( caution: if you have any children in the room then make sure to cover their eyes before clicking the link).

So my theory was proven true. Capcom US has been pro MM all along. The MML3 dev room was kept open over here in the US where as in Japan, it was closed very quickly once the title was canceled.

And it seem Capcom US has future big plans for the Blue Bomber. Meaning we'll likly be getting another MM game after Xover.

But on the other hand, this means Capcom US plans to milk the series forever.

Remember folks, Capcom US are assholes that WANT to milk MM for every last drop. Where as Capcom JP wants the franchise deader then Disco.

It should also be worth noting that Capcom JP is leading the X-over project.

Yeah but if they're all in the vein of Xover it'll be pointless.

Did Megaman 9 and 10 really not sell enough units to make making more of those not worthwhile or what? The production cost had to be dirt cheap and they're wildly popular, so why not just make Megaman 11?

Kyanbu The Legend 11-14-2012 07:53 PM

It seems they plan on doing just that. 11 will happen, it's just a matter of when.

Also seems the devs wanna make MMBN7. I really hope not since MMBN is one of the few series in the MM franchise that got an ending. Next to MMZ (ended with MMZ4) and Starforce (Ended with MMSF 3 Black Ace/Red Joker).

That awful game makes sense now.

Also, about the endings, I only knew of the endings of MMBN and MMZ. And as much as I like BN's gameplay (minus BN5, I never really seemed to like that one), I'd rather have them stop now before they ruin it. Maybe I should give SF a try.

To check, am I the only one that liked Legends? Controls were abit meh, which is odd to say about a megaman game, but over all it was fun. I'd play another one

I'll believe that Megaman isn't dead, that they're provably "pro-MM", when I see another fuckin' Megaman game released. Till then this is at best an empty gesture.

If you play SF, I'd say start with 3 unless you really want to follow the story all the way through (which is decent by MM standards).

As SF3's (Mainly Black Ace Version) gameplay is what SF1 should have been. And in my opinon is a worth while successor to MMBN6's gameplay by being almost just as good as but not quite better then it.

EDIT: No Aero, you're not alone. It's just that MML3 was announced way before the game was even worked on at all much less green lit.
