Recommend Snake Some PSP Games

Just bought a PS Vita (if you want to know why, just note that I appear to have very little willpower. I've been conflicted over it even after the purchase, and whether it's a sign of maturation that I'm willing to accept imperfection for the sake of my own sanity, or whether it's a sign of capitulation and submission to temptation.)

But! Rather than concentrate on that bag of worms, I figure now's a great time to actually purchase some PSP games that I've missed out on over the years because I've never owned a PSP. And, apparently a lot of PSP games are available for download onto the Vita.

The obvious contender right now for an immediate download is Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, though I'm not sure if it's available for Vita, but if it is, I am purchasing that shit immediately (despite any passing resemblance to FFT, an objectively respectable game I'm actually not as fond of as you probably are.)

Any others you'd recommend? Remember my preferences: JRPGs, JRPGs, JRPGs, the occasional action-adventure title or strategy game, and JRPGs.

As for the Vita. Awesome News, Bandai Namco now WANTS to release tales games here.

So there's Tales of Innocence R and Tales of Hearts R to look forward to. in the later years.

Also You should definately pick up P4 Golden. It's a pretty rad updated port with so much new content and quests/Social Links added that it's almost an remake.

First off I don't recommend the Ratchet & Clank and Jak & Daxter games made specifically for PSP (outsourcing to a different developer means you might as well set your franchise on fire).

Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is a very interesting JRPG that shakes up a lot of the classic turn-based system and has so much style to it.

Most everything else I play and like has showed up already, but keep an eye out since they're adding more and more PSP games and with cross-play more and more PS3 releases will have a PSV version.

I'm torn between a desire to contradict your assertion that the updated content is "rad," and a defeatist acknowledgment that P4G is, as implied in past commentary, the reason I did in fact purchase the Vita today.

Honestly started laughing out loud because of how heavily Snake implied that's the main reason he got a Vita, and how he's gone on record that the added content is not something he is looking forward to.

Ah my mistake then.

I basically bought a Vita for the sole purpose of reliving the PS2 version of P4, and the moment the game goes horribly 'off-script' I'll close my eyes, whistle a tune and pretend the new content was non-canonical rubbish written by a fanfic author that slipped under Atlus' radar.

Honestly I actually have been looking forward to getting access to all these PSP games though. I probably was going to buy a Vita in 2013 anyway, P4G just expedited things.

Techically it's not cannon anyway. It's just there to help make the game feel more then just a port of a game you can get off amazon for $10+ instead of paying $40+ to play it on a small screen (assuming you don't have the TV cables).

Oh, it's totally canon, from an objective perspective. Atlus wrote the new scenes and they intend the new scenes to be "real" events that occurred to the main character during his time in Inaba.
...I just choose to ignore all of that because I'd rather not be sorely tempted to buy a plane ticket to Japan just to punch a wall in Atlus' office building.
