Prince of Persia

I have just started seeing ads for the new Prince of Persia game. I'm not really on the up-and-up of game releases, so I was surprised. Does anyone know how the game stacks up when compared to the original?
Obviously the graphics are in a completely different class...what I remember about the original game was its extreme difficulty (I don't know how difficult it actually was, I was young), its super awesome-ness and how cumbersome the sword wielding was.

Prince of Persia has recently become my new favorite X-Box game. Finally, X-Box owners have something to brag about besides Halo, and KOTOR. The graphics for PoP leave nothing to be desired, first off. They are shimmery, and it gives the entire game a magical and beautiful quality. The acrobatics from the original games have now been translated smoothly into 3D, and every move is simple to pull off, and looks great. The swordplay is equally good. You have a wide range of moves, and the controls work perfectly for the game. Also, the new time moves are beautifully implemented. Slow down and rewind are the most useful, especially when your on one of those high cliffs. Enemies are relatively intelligent. The puzzles are clever, and offer a good challenge, while never being so hard as to hinder the gameplay. And, as has always been so, the storyline/plot is engaging and fun. All in all, few games beat this one.

I've heard nothing but awesome comments regarding it. Well, there is one thing: it's REALLY short. My friend beat it in a single night. I'm planning on renting it.

Thanks. Perhaps I sahll do the same.

Um, dude. You can get those games for PC, so quit bragging. And Prince of Persia is for all systems including PC and GBA.

Prince of Persia looks like a game I will be adding to my "I wish I could have if I only had the money" list. I like the fact that they have the time control in it (i didn't get to play any of the other ones, so i don't know if they had that element).

Well, the original could be beaten in less than an hour.

As a matter of fact, that was the only way to beat it.

I'm not the one bragging. X-Box fanboys are. I love all my consoles equally. And Prince of Persia looks the best on X-Box anyway. So there's a reason to buy it for that particular console. Also, the GC controller was made by a crack addict, beyond all doubt, and the PS2 controller doesn't feel all too comfortable for PoP.

Hey, hey, hey. I wouldn't be talking about the GC controller like that, especially if you are supporting the X-Box controller. Even the smaller one just looks uncomfortable, and I am not even going into the original.

I like the GC controller.
Also, I think the X-Box's best usage is as a cheap Linux box.

JESUS, quit the fucking fanboy warfare already. Every single thread, I swear.

Anyways, I've heard very good things about the new Prince of Persia, and I'm planning to check it out sometime this holiday season. Word is the Xbox version is the best (please don't crucify me), but I'm sure any of the versions are just as good.

Xeno: I find it doubtful that the Xbox version has better graphics than a high-end PC, though.
