Got Chivalry at 50% it was totally worth it... when it connects.
I'm musing over Air Buccanners if more NPF's get it i will certainl jump that bandwaggon... |
Are there any comparison videos between Air Bucaneers and Wings of Icarus? I haven't bothered to look yet, and they seem like very similar games (like Chivalry Vs. War of the Roses).
But yeah Chivalry is great. And it's even better when you manage to get the entire server you're on to partake in fisticuffs duels, where anyone breaking the Gentleman's Agreement of Honorable Fisticuffs Combat get's pummeled by all nearby players (be they teammate or foe, and always still with fists even though they have a weapon) or votekicked from the server. Good times. |
From what i understand and the little i saw, they are nearly clones, but Air Buccannneers have enemy ship boarding and it seems a bit more stylized
...i'm heavily inclined to it.... EDIT: Fuck it... just bought Air Buccanneers now i need to convice 4 more of you to buy it so we can dominate the skies. Also, yeah, the Ships in Guns of Icarus are much more prettier, but the gameplay on Air Buccanneers seems a lot faster and boarding enemy ships totally closed the deal for me. It's real cheap for a new game, so i suggest you guys to hope in the damn badwagon right now |
If I remembered my password, I could have tried to use my phone I guess.

Man, why did nobody tell me before that Galactic Civilizations was a thing.

Look at how I tell you things you already know. I am helpful!

I once again advocate the joys of the Mount&Blade games (mainly the multiplayer side of Warband and the DLC Napoleonic Wars).
A video of a linebattle I attended as light infantry (the closest to how most public play is done I guess...): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTuVNyqm1lY"#t=8m29s |
Do it for Jack!
Of course, BL2 would go on sale for 50% off again a couple of days after I bought it.
In about eleven minutes, it'll be up as the next Community's Choice sale. Grab it if you haven't! |
quick update... Air Buccaneers is great. IT's lightning fast to get in the game is super non complicated, it looks good, plays well and it's fun. Start the game, click fast play, BOOM you are playing. You level up as you play your role, and regardless of the team you play, you level up both at the same time. So you can be playing as a pirate, and if your team sucks, just switch to viking, stay on the same server (or not) and just kick ass without loosing any XP. totally worth the low price of admission.
Also on that note... Chivalry : Medieval Warfate is also pretty pretty fucking great... long range is a bit off, but hitting someone is very satisfying. Also the BEST use of the C key on my keyboard EVER. |
...Sleeping Dogs is available for $17.
EVERYONE WHO DOES NOT OWN SLEEPING DOGS MUST BUY IT NOW K THX |
I dunno, man. The title seems to suggest I should just let it lie.
It's like making a movie called "Spilled Milk" and calling it the tearjerker of the year. |
Like, "Best Open-World Game" Levels of Missin' Out
You just have absolutely no idea what you're missing out on, POS.
|
I second with snake. It has car-to-car hijacking.
|
And so many things to do.
|
You're all no fun.
|
I had so much money saved up in preparation for moving before this steam sale. Then my plans got postponed and now Valve has most of that money but man I have so many new games.

Ffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck! they fixed it!!
I almost had it, but paypal crapped out on me................... |
Even worse! I botched it because I was too busy typing a long comment in the Big Bang thread. DAMMIT BIG BANG THEORY, YOU COST ME AAAAGGGAAAAIIINNNN
Edit: To clarify because RO asked, I already have beaten it on PS3, but I was thinking about nabbing a PC version for that price too because at that price it'd be worth it. |
Man, you guys should have jumped on that. There hasn't been a deal that good since Alpha Protocol was on sale for $2.
|
My Steam community friends page basically became a wall of Sleeping Dogs for half an hour.
Coincidentally, a guy who had bought Sleeping Dogs yesterday for £10 had bought RAGE today. |

fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine snake, i got it btw if you weren't there to abuse the system, you can probably get it from someone who did it here |
I can't decide between grabbing Civ V or IV. Anyone wanna help?
|
V's easier to get into and focuses more on tactical combat than unit count in wartime, but IV has much funner empire management and better mod support. I vote IV.
|
Civ 4 beyond the sword is usually the one I tell new players to get. But hell if you have the money get civ 5 with gods and kings as well and decide on your own.
|
Quote:
Basically, though, even Civ V with Gods and Kings feels like an inferior game in every respect that isn't related to combat -- and Civilization is not a combat-heavy game (unless you play a faction like the Mongols and churn out Doomstacks like butter.) And Civ V without Gods and Kings is almost unplayable. ...Well, that's a little harsh, but it's certainly a steep fall from Civ IV with Beyond the Sword. |
WELL
I got civ 4 complete. |
You made a good decision then
Also I will |
So the Steam sale has ended for reals, and now it's time for everyone to report in how much damage was done to their wallet.
Before the sale started, I gave myself a $100 dollar limit based on rather accurate guesses and not-so-subtle hints (such as my brother telling me he was just going to get me a steam giftcard) on how many gift cards and how much money I would receive for Christmas. Scribblenauts Unlimited - $19.99 Natural Selection 2 - $9.99 Half Minute Hero - $3.39 Sonic Adventure DX - $4.47 Sonic Adventure 2 - $4.99 SA2 Battle Mode DLC - $1.49 Little Inferno - $9.99 (grabbed it before it had a daily/flash sale because I couldn’t wait) Assorted Sleeping Dogs DLC - $4.38 Payday: The Heist Soundtrack - $1.24 DMC 3&4 Bundle - $10.19 The Secret World - $22.49 To the Moon - $3.39 Total Damage: $96.00 The $4 left over got me a sandwich. It had nothing to do with video games, but it was tasty. |

Anyway, damage report: Intrusion 2 This game remains pretty fun and a solid buy for, at the time, under three bucks. It's nice since you can just pick it up and drop it at any time. Only real problem is that, like its predecessor, it still appears to be made in Flash, resulting in predictable memory issues. Aside from that, the gameplay is tight, and the physics are loose, which makes for some unexpected fun now and then. Galactic Civilizations 1 & 2 I can't believe I've never played this game before. It's incredible. I still have yet to break down and design a Huge-size ship shaped like a phallus, but I'll let you know when I do, in fact, crack. Pity there's no multiplayer, even though it'd render the Terran and Drath abilities worthless. Scribblenauts Unlimited If I weren't so wrapped up in GalCiv and Stronghold, this game would be holding my undivided attention. It doesn't disappoint. Age of Empires 3 Complete I lost my discs some time ago, but I still greatly enjoyed this game back then and I'd love to get back into it once I've played the new games enough. The Stronghold Collection Not technically part of the Winter Sales, but I'm including it anyway since it immediately preceded the Winter Sales and was 75% off. This game is hella fun, though the ridiculous amount of macromanagement makes for a stiff learning curve. Still, not quite as bad as Rise of Nations in that regard. About 60-70 bucks, all told. |
