Resident 4 Dead 2 Steam Night Scheduling!!

All right suckers, the thread title is not wrong... lo'n behold kotaku makes it self useful!

Quote:

Capcom and Valve are pleased to announce the Resident Evil® 6 x Left 4 Dead 2 project. This crossover project between two of the interactive entertainment industry's most respected publishers will see characters from Left 4 Dead™ 2 featured exclusively in the forthcoming PC version of Resident Evil® 6, while enemies from Resident Evil 6 will invade the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2. All content will be made available completely free for fans of either game to access and play.

Owners of Resident Evil 6 PC will be able to select one of four survivors from Left 4 Dead 2's iconic cast – Coach, Nick, Ellis and Rochelle – when playing PC exclusive mode, The Mercenaries No Mercy. Each character will have a special customized weapon load-out created just for use in Resident Evil 6. In addition to the four survivors, two of the infamous Special Infected zombies from the Left 4 Dead franchise – the Witch and Mini Tank – will also make a cameo appearance in this mode, relentlessly attacking players regardless of whether a character from Left 4 Dead 2 or Resident Evil 6 is chosen. This new and exclusive content will automatically be downloaded in the background to all owners of the PC version of Resident Evil 6 from April 5.

Making the leap to the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2 will be some of Resident Evil 6's most fearsome enemies – Lepotitsa, Napad and Ogroman. All three characters were brought to life in Left 4 Dead 2 by Valve's renowned developers using its Steam Workshop tools. Owners of the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2 will be able to face a new deadly challenge when Resident Evil 6 characters infect Valve's classic zombie title this spring.

Commenting on the crossover project, Chet Faliszek from Valve stated: "We're huge Resident Evil fans, so when the opportunity arose to work directly with Capcom to combine L4D2 and RE6, we jumped at it."

Resident Evil 6 Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi added: "The Resident Evil 6 team really enjoyed working on this crossover, and we're confident that our fans will have a great time with it too! We hope you enjoy this unique content."
So, i can't give half a shit about Resident Evil 6, but a new left 4 dead event with RE monsters sounds like a ton of fun.

And now we have a thread to generate interest on this. Re6 comes out on steam next Week, so get your groovy ready cause we should totally have a steam night for this, and now we can plan in advance!!

Also, if for some reason you bought Re6 on Steam you can play with L4D2 characters in it i guess...

Anybody up for this?!

Do we have a not-kotaku source? Because this sounds simultaneously too good/bad to be true.

Non-Kotaku source for your viewing pleasure.

And here's another, courtesy of double-post merger abuse.

Joystiq and Destructoid are my go-to gaming news sites (other than r/games). I used to browse Kotaku occasionally for the lulz, but stopped when I read an article giving tips on how to play Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Apparently over half the journalists on the site didn't know basic controls, like the importance of parrying, or how to use/unlock the unlockable dodge, and blamed the game for not properly explaining these mechanics. However, the game has a freaking tutorial that explains parrying, and additional tutorials about nearly every mechanic in the game. It also has a complete movelist two button presses away. That article pushed me over the edge of "haha these guys are so bad it's funny" to "how the fuck do you have a job playing/reviewing games?"

Pyros will be present and playing this when it appears in his left 4 deads.

Weird though, because I'm pretty sure I've already got Jill Valentine and Sheva Alomar in my Left 4 Dead 2.

You waited until Revengenanacense to quit it, that by itself is already something worth of note... nowadays i check Kotaku mostly cause its easy to browse, if there is something i want to read about i know the news is also in another better site since 80% of Kotaku's content is talking about stuff other people posted...

As for Resident Dead Evil Left, i'll be around also, mostly friday and saturday night, so save me a slot if people show up!!

Like I said, I browsed the sight to laugh at how bad of journalists they were. Like 90% of one of their "journalists" articles were random things pulled from r/gaming's front page, and not even news-worthy things. Before their incompetence amused me, now it just disappoints me.

Off topic a bit, but that's all the more reason to dump that shitstain of a site that's part of that cancer called Gawker Media. Go to Rock, Paper, Shotgun or Destructoid or joystiq. Y'know, some of the places that at least make somewhat of an effort to maintain some semblance of journalistic integrity that doesn't involve re-posting and jerking off to their egos. That and they don't have Jesus Diaz spewing his idiot vomit all over the place. Not giving that chunderfuck Diaz any clicks is reason enough. Quit giving Gawker media income, bells. That place is terrible all around.

On topic: ZAMBIES! Z-Z-ZAMBIES! I'll probly hop in to watch whenever it goes on (if it is livestreamed). Tryin to be more a part of NPFnights lately.

Im trapped on the Kotaku-IGN-Gamespot cycle of news, i really do need a new gaming news site... although, gamespot is not all that bad, at least to know what games are upcoming, and it's a jump away from gamefaqs...

Actually, if everybody is ok with it livestreaming or at least recording the session would be fun, i would offer to do it, but just playing normally already gives me a ping of 200 or more....
