two questions,
-why did fighter die after only about 2000 damage? Normally, unless you're lucky, you need at least 4000 to beat Chaos.

-what the friggin' crap was that about magic not existing? Rosa and Rydia talked like they useless, then basically ran the entire show!

You've only watched part 1. There are about 12 episodes. And the fight was between FF1, and FF4, so there were a lot of spells that were created in FF2-4 that were not in FF1. So they didn't exist.
