I say we have bullets in good supply, if Earth Mages can effect medals like Water Mages do water (Just not as powerful) It would solve the problem with limited metals. Plus it would allow for their to be larger metal companies like Water Companies

i find that before i pull out as well, i should say something, granted, firearms are easier to use at first, but what do you do when you run out of ammo for a firearm? while you're reloading, said knife wielder is closing in, provided there is adequate cover, a knife wielder could sneak up on a gun wielder, wait for him to empty his clip/gun/belt/whatever else, close quarters to less than three feet, and splork splork splork, you got gun wielder guts on your blade. and i aint even gotten into maintainence, gun:grease it up some, take a rag to it bam, knife, take a rag to it zing, really, it all depends on location though, cuz if ima be at 600 feet, and the other guy's got a gun, i want a better gun, but if i'm in melee, i want a knife

...just because someone is using a gun doesn't mean that they don't have a knife on them too. Hell, for that matter, if they're using a rifle, what if they have a bayonet?
