Quick guinea pig question
 

I'm pretty sure, but I have to check since this is what killed my hedgehog. Are pine chips ok for bedding? We got something outside the stuff I've been using and I want to as sure as possible its healthy for her.

From googling it, it seems like it is not conclusively proven toxic, but there is a correlation between using wood shavings as bedding and long-term ill health. Pine is supposedly better than ceder, but still, why risk it?

I normally use a synthetic bedding but I had to ask my family to buy her new bedding because I cant afford it (and only actual petstores have the non-wood variety).

If only long term is the issue I'll use up the pine for now and set some money aside for her usual stuff. Her cage is way too dirty for me to not change it out.
