Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town

So, anyone else besides me get this game yet? I got it when Gamespot got it in stock last Friday, and I must say it's an addicting little game. Only up to almost the middle of summer 1, but i'm loving it so far. There are some games that take a long time to pry from my hands, and this is one of them...I start saying "just one more day" and before i know it, it's 1 AM when i meant to sleep at 11 or something. I've even got Karen up to a purple heart, yay! So, discuss, what do you guys like, dislike, etc? My main problem so far is that some of the text is somewhat bad (some bad grammar, or just plain screwy as with the fishing pole).

Well, I don't have a GBA, but I may get the rom for the game. I have, however, reserved a copy of Harvest Moon: It's a Wonderful Life for the GC and am very anxious to get to play it when it comes to the stores.

Its a Harvest Moon game so already I'm most likely gonna get it.

Its a beefed up version of the PSX/N64 Harvest Moon game, which is to date the MOST addicting game I have ever played.

I need some Harvest Moon intake to hold me off before the GC one comes out....how ever long that is still going to be.

So yeah, all signs point to me getting this game. With all possibility, I might even get it by this friday. And for one thing, I know it is going to be addicting and fun. But I may be putting too much expectation on it and make it less as fun and addicting as the N64 one with all this hype...

Well here I am double posting because no one else has posted in this thread.

My View: The game ROCKS! Best Harvest Moon I have played yet....expanded on the 64 version 10 fold and put so much to do, I hardly have a day where I'm not arriving home late.

So far, the game is a good 9.5. I'll see what else it can pull out. I still have tons of upgrades to do and I have one more level of heart to get on my girl (Elli if you must know -_-). But I think I'm playing it too fast, having all my tools already upgraded and I'm only in my second year on Spring 11.

How is the one only other person doing on the game. -_-

Yikes! Zero, you just hit another game that compells me to get a cube. When is it released? You'll have to tell me what it's like...

He should be getting the GBA one now because its amazingly addictive and connects to the GC one (I've already come up to the point where you can connect to the GC one).

Yeah, i know what you mean, Kenryoku. Ever day during spring, summer, and fall i was getting in my house 11-12. My only complaint so far is that i don't enjoy winter all that much. I SHOULD build up my relationships with the townsolk, so i'll probably do that. And i should be able to marry Karen very soon if i want, i'm very close to a red heart. I do have one question: are sheep worth it, does anyone think? I do have one currently, and two cows, and the cows just seem to outweigh the sheep so much...get the same amount from cows everyday basically as a sheep once a week gives. Well, guess i'll go back to running around town and in mines until spring comes.

Hamelin 11-30-2003 07:01 PM

Keep one sheep, there's a festival that judges them, isn't there?

Kenryoku_Maxis 11-30-2003 07:43 PM

I have yet to try sheep. Man...there's just too much to do!

I spent my first winter basically getting the sprites to like me, stocking up on items in the mines (what you're sappose to do in the winter) and upgrading my tools. But because I'm so hardcore on Harvest Moon games, I ended up upgrading all my tools but the rod and the sickle that winter....-_-

I'm gonna get sheep probably in the fall when my summer run slows down. I'm gonna plant about 50 fields in the summer (5 days away). I hope the sprites can help me because if not....I'm in for non-stop crop care soon.

KEVINWASH1 11-30-2003 07:44 PM

Yup, there is one festival that judges them, wasn't sure if there was something else too. Oh well, guess i'll just have to get her happy and maybe make yarn out of her wool, that'll get me some more money i guess. :)
