Spare Witcher 3 / Arkham KnightsIntoDays codes.
Don't think anyone pays attention to the NPF Steam group posts, so I'll post here.
Since I decided to upgrade my graphics card I now have some promotion codes for those two games in the title. I already own both of them, due to a very beneficial pricing glitch for Witcher 3 when it first went on sale last year, and some combined discounts for Symphony Of The Arkham Knight. You simply punch these codes in on Nvidia's website, and it'll then ask you to log in with a GOG account / Steam account. Nvidia will probably also think you own a GTX 970. These codes are good until July 31st, so I'm open to offers. Steam game tradery, promise of future tradery, or whatever. Look at my wish list, it's huge! Or failing all of that, I suppose a Paypal transfer? Damned if I can remember my details though. Anyway, post here or wing me a PM. |
And then we'll see whether my poor R9 290 can handle it?
I'll purchase and gift you anything on the Steam store that costs $40 or less for Witcher 3.
...I had held off buying it on launch for $48 because I really wanted to play the first and second title first, but goddamn, the original Witcher is torture to grind through. |
For that price the best bet on my list would be Game of Thrones.... but I have the small problem that I haven't actually watched GoT yet. And the game is still only on E4/6 anyway. Divinity OS meets your requirements but I'm won't be that tight. I'll keep an eye on sales and see if something favourable to your wallet comes up if I haven't yet given the key, Summer sale should be in two or three weeks, also.
My old GTX 760 seemed to handle Witcher 3 fine on medium. 30fps, granted. Your R9 -should- be plenty sufficient, but I heard there was some AMD driver fuckery with W3 and Project Cars, with AMD throwing dirt at Nvidia for 'sabotage'. Might be best to wait a bit on that anyway. |
I've heard Witcher 3 actually performs slightly better on AMD than equivalent NVidia cards, which would favor the R9, but I've also heard that Witcher 3 sucks the crap out of just about any GPU and the newest PC patches with even better graphics probably won't help matters. The R9 can apparently handle close to 60 FPS on Medium but slows to 25-40 FPS on High and Ultra 1080p. I'm interested in learning whether my card specifically averages closer to the 25 or the 40 there.
...At any rate, I'll keep the offer open and let you decide whether you want to pounce on it. EDIT: Apparently AMD outperforming NVidia in certain contexts there has a lot to do with NVidia's Hairworks draining the shit out of resources, if you toggle that functionality off the equivalent NVidia card reigns supreme. |
I don't think anyone but Titan users leave Hairworks on. AMD had their own thing with TressFX back with Tomb Raider 2013, Hairworks entirely stinks of Nvidia trying to one-upmanship AMD again.

i'll take a batmang code if you still got it
|
I still got it. But I also have that Arcanum bloke interested in it. Both of you haven't really made an offer. Or maybe Arc did, but I've forgotten it as it was lost in Steam chat. So.
