Jericho pondered this for a moment. "Yes. We are not without allies, Tamona may be able to bring the Drow to our side of this conflict as well. However, if we are to free the Avariel, we must find some way to keep the Evil of Air away from their fallen city.
This means that we must find something that he wants. If you were a fallen angel looking for revenge and the destruction of all life, what would you want?" |
"We must find out why he became the way he is, what event set him on this course. He isn't just a creature raised to hate others, like the troll or the ogre. Nor is he some evil spirit or confused child, there is something in him that made him this way, an event. When we find what this event was, we shall know how what he wants, and what we must do next." Delmenon said.
|
Ooc: Draloron? You mean Delmenon don't you?
Ic: Jericho nodded in agreement. "However, that still leaves the question: How? How will we find what he wants, what that event was, what caused him to turn into the Hurricane?" He sighed in a resigned tone. "This means that someone will have to travel to the city of the Avariels to infiltrate and find out. An insertion team will be necessary, or a lone individual." |
The dwarven settlement laid in ashes. All were slain and brutally murrdered. The men, decimated. The women, decapetated. And the children.... put out of their misery. The elf breathed heavily. This power..... what made it erupt from him? He had several scars across his body from axes, swords and other weapons, but he really didn't mind them. He relaxed on a rock, looking at the wasted town. How beautiful destruction could be! A distant noise made birds scattered. Scott looked quizically at a charging figure. It was a troll or orge of some sort.
Wait. A troll? No. A two-headed troll! Hadn't he seen this troll before? His head pulsed furiously. That dream...? Was it real or not? Was he being tested? Or toyed with? The troll presented..himself for his service. "Service?" The elf asked himself? Didn't troll usually slay humans and elves and dwarves and all other beings? Maybe the troll was put under a charm or something? The elf wasn't really too sure. What was he sure about? He scratched his head. He turned to the troll once more. "I guess....so. But I'm no babysitter." the elf replied, half-heartily. After swapping intro's, the elf rubbed his eyes and peered into the distance. This world.... felt unusual. Unlike anything else he had ever felt before. Dark was falling upon the duo...or trio. Scott set up camp by quickly lighting a fire and curling around it. He stared into space. What in the Nine-hells was going on? |
OOC: dammit! I keep putting the name of my character from the Albannar RP.....dammit dammit dammit! *goes to edit post*
IC: "I'll go.....I have an idea" Delmenon grinned, "I don't know if my Earth abilities include the power to shapeshift, but perhaps I can turn into an Avariel and infiltrate the city..." |
Jericho shook his head. "No, The avariels are too much of a closely knit society. They will know an outsider the second they see him, and Gwaethir is certain to have spies in place. We need someone who can infiltrate unseen. And besides, we don't even know what we are looking for."
|
"Gwaethir acts like an outcast, in some ways, and I'm guessing he rules through fear of his power alone. He could hear us from a few miles above the ground, he can use his power to magically listen anywhere he wants to.....he wouldn't need spies, and he wouldn't trust them if he had any. Some Avariel will recognize me as an outsider, but I have a feeling Gwaethir was a noble....his arrogance and condescending manner, along with the image he gives, show that. Nobles NEVER know all of their subjects by name or sight, and unless someone tells him, he will never know we were there. And I'm willing to bet no one will tell him, I get a feeling he wouldn't be the sort to reward them even if he did.....he couldn't treat his own people so vindictively unless he really hated them."
|
Jericho sighed, resigned that he would not win this arguement. "Very well, but you should not go alone. If he can conquer a nation singlehandedly, one man will not be able to stand up to him alone. I'm comming with you. Besides, If you're gonna be an Averiel, you're going to have to at least have the appearance that you can fly."
|
Delmenon laughed, "Appearance? I'll have wings! I won't be able to fly as well as you or Gwaethir, or even as well as an Avariel who spent all their life with wings...but I'll be able to stay in the air! I think I can change your appearance, too......but I can't take anyone else. One, it's too risky and two, Avariel have an affinity for Air Magic, so you can use your powers, and since I'm using Earth Magic to cast this spell and I'm used to casting Earth magic I'll be able to use my powers as well....anyone else, though, would have their powers 'blocked' somewhat by the form I create with my spell, and would be weakened."
|
"Then it is agreed." Jericho said, returning his gaze to their path. "Now the question is where do we find this city of angels?"
