So here's the thing - Halloween, pagan holiday which I only know the history of through pop culture, is coming up. Let's talk scares, costumes, movies and candy.

We could discuss how over commercialization of holidays has turned what should be the scariest day of the year into a time where girls and boys take the opportunity to dress up in "sexy" costumes and get their freak on. We could also argue that there aren't really any other costumes available for women other than "sexy." Everything storebought is all "Sexy nun," "sexy witch," "sexy salt and pepper."

We could also talk horror movies - like, say, for instance, Hocus Pocus versus Halloween. Halloween Town versus Trick 'R Treat. Anything done by Disney versus anything done by Craven/Carpenter.

Should Halloween be scary? Absolutely. Is it scary? Depends on circumstance, I guess.

But it's not all about candy.

Huh, I guess I can still be surprised.

They also made a "Sexy Pizza Rat" costume. Really it's par for the course for the industry o take any cultural flight of fancy or flavor of the last year or so and print it over your basic "Sexy" template.

Sometimes it pays to just make your own costume ahead of time. Also can be a very fun experience. Even if your going for a sexy themed creature of the night.
