"Um, Hello... Nice to see you again." Melandie said to Harold: "Er.. How are you.. doing?" God this is akwardMelandie said to herself.
Vars watched Magnus and Kardin talk. He then disappeared into the darkness.
"Follow me to the headquarters." Kardin had nothing left to say to Magnus and was not interested in conversing, so he did not speak. He strode off out towards the a high hill with an old mansion at the top.
Vars then turned back, thinking. Perhaps Kel Nu'ur should have a representative in the Marlag. The assassin followed Kardin and Magnus, dropping down for feet in front of them with fake blood layered on his chest. He lay deathly still, waiting for their reaction.
Magnus took in the mansion with but a glance. "How very... Gothic." was all he could bring himself to say as they approached the aging mansion. "How long have you, or your group, had this place?"
"Vars, get up." He had pulled this trick before. Many times. Before Kardin had left Noham, he would have fallen for this. He knew better now.
"I've only been here a year. It was like this when I found it. I redid the inside." |
Magnus cocked an eyebrow. "I can't wait."
He then turned his gaze to the elf pretending to be dead in the street. "a little mellodramatic isn't he?" |
Kardin grunted. "If he doesn't get up soon, I'll kick him." It was obvious in his voice that he meant it. Two years ago, that would have been an empty threat.
A lot had changed in two years. |
With that, Vars did one of those things where you leap up from lying on your back. "You've changed," he murmured.
"I have." he agreed. He walked up to the door of the mansion. It was large and heavy. Kardin pushed hard as it slowly opened, revealing a quaint dining room in the center and stair that led up to the higher floors. "Welcome to Marlag headquarters." He shed his cloak as he stepped in and put his dagger on the table.
